Chapter 3: Elegance

Nia’s POV

Habang papunta na kami ni school ni Rior, Laive called and said “Hello girl, 6:00pm at my house. Don’t forget my gift?” then she hanged up., “I’m totally doomed. It is Laive’s birthday and I forgot it’s today!”,bulong ko sa sarili while sitting beside Rior’s  seat on his car. “Who is it?”, sabi  niya and I answered “Laive, my bestfriend. She invited me on her birthday party.” Natahimik siya akala niya siguro it’s a guy. “Laive, huh? Is it a boy or a girl?”, biglang tanong niya. “Off course she’s a girl, duh!.”, I replied.  He was like laughing at me halatang nang aasar. “So it’s her birthday and you forgot? Do you really see her as a friend? “, tumatawang sabi niya then he added, “So probably you don’t have gift for her and mamaya na ang party. Okay then I’ll accompany you after class to buy gifts for her. I insist so just agree.” Wala na kong magawa kasi it is totally my fault because I forgot and all I need to do is to agree to Rior. “Okay fine, thanks to you. You’re my savior this time.”, sabi ko. Nakarating na kami sa school and he opened the car’s door for me. “We’re here na Nia.”, ika niya. “Yeah I know I’m not dumb.” Pang-iinis na sagot ko. “Let’s meet after the class ended. I’ll wait at your room and you better treat me food to thank me ha!”, sigaw niya habang papunta sa room niya. I just rolled my eyes as an answer and we go separate ways kasi pupunta palang siya sa office to know his section kasi kaka transfer niya palang kahapon and I’m wishing na hindi ko siya kaklase. Dumaan muna ko sa locker to get my books and dumiretso na papunta sa classroom. Habang nag lalakad ako iniisip ko na kung ano ang ireregalo ko kay Laive. I am wondering kung ano pa bang wala siya and ano bang gusto niya. Bags?, No. Shoes?, Simple, so no. Cosmetics?, No she have many of that. Clothes?, Absolutely, no. “Ah then the best option is a car!’, I said this louder ‘cause natuwa ako that I already know what gift I’ll buy. “Soare you sure it’s the best option?  Well not bad.”, may nagsalita na kaboses ni Rior. Kaya I look who is it and  oh no it’s really Rior, he’s in front of my classroom’s door. How unlucky, he’s my classmate in Class A. I don’t hate him but I don’t care also if he’s my classmate. I find him boring and I have no interest on him. I’m just happy to see him after a long time. Anyways, “Tsk, you’re my classmate.”, sabi ko and he replied “Well you have no choice paren so just be happy haha.” Dahil sasamahan niya ko mamaya naisip ko na deng i-invite siya toaccompany me mamaya sa party para naman may kasama ako kasi for sure some guy have plan hitting on me because I’m alone sa sulok and its their chance to talk to me but I don’t want to join other girls at the party either kasi nasanay na  ako by myself, magisa and enjoying the party alone but he can be my excuse to refuse. “Hey join us mamaya tutal kasama naman kita. Kawawa ka naman.”, pang aasar na aya ko sa kanya. “Gusto mo lang ako kasama eh.” ,pabirong sagot niya. “Asa ka. So do you wanna come?”, paglilinaw ko. “Please me first!”, nakakairitang sabi niya. “Okay I’ll take it as a no,” sabi ko. Pero dali dali niyang sinabing, “I’m kidding. Yeah sure. Why not? Sasama na ko kawawa ka naman.” Umupo na ko sa upuan and tumabi siya sa side ko. Ayaw kong makita yung pagmumukha nito kaya pinalilipat ko siya ng upuan pero ang kulit niya so okay fine. I don’t care. “Good morning class!”, our teacher said. The class started. As usual I care about the topics so I always listen carefully sa discussions pero this guy is pissing me off. He’s very talkative like dati. He’s always distracting me but I kinda miss this, kasama ko na ulet yung taong nakakapagpatawa, nakakapagpagalit and nakakapang-asar sa akin. Maybe he see me as an cold ice but I’m really happy he is here na with me. Dati I can’t imagine me without him but I manage it because I know it’s for his dad. Hindi ko siya kino-contact or I didn’t try to reach him when he was in Germany because I don’t want to miss him more.

Tumunog na ang bell. “Okay, class dismissed. Be ready on your midterms students.”, the teacher said to end the class. Gaya nga ng napag usapan after class they go to the car’s shop. Nia is planning to buy Laive a mustang.

Viexel’s POV

“So what color do you prefer?”, Nia asked me. Ngayon lang siya nagtanong nang ganyan kasi simula pa dati she decides everything on her own and I did not expect that. “Wwe-well I guess the red one.”, I answered. “Okay then I’ll get the red one”, nakakapanibagong sagot niya. Now I realize maybe some of her behaviour change or baka she want me, kasi she’s asking na for my opinion. Pero ang layo pala binibiro  ko yung sarili ko. “It’s settle na and I order them na to send it to Liave’s house. So let’s go home and change. We’re going to Laive’s party! Woo-hoo!”, she excitedly said. Hinatid ko na siya pauwi sa kanila so that she can change. “See you at 5:30pm, I’ll give you a ride na den. Ipapaalam nadin kila kila tito ang tita. Uwi muna ako to get change.”, I said to her. “Ingat, bye. Wear a semi-formal outfit Rior. See you.”, she responded to me. Umuwi na ko, feeling ko this is gonna be the best day ever. We will attend a party together, T-O-G-E-T-H-E-R as in together magkasama. Naghanap nako ng damit na isusuot ko ang I saw these black longsleeve and I pair it with black jeans. I wear a belt and I unbuttoned two buttons since its semi-formal concept. I almost forget but I remember anyway. I bring along a jacket kasi mabilis lamigin si Nia so she can use it. I put perfume and pumunta na agad ako kila Nia to fetch her. I drove to her house and pinapasok muna ko nila tita sa salas nila and I waited for her. By the way pinaalam ko na siya kila tita and they both said yes because they trust me when it comes to Nia. I wonder what she’ll going to wear because I hope it match my outfit. After how many minutes later, she’s finally coming down the stairs and I said to myself, “She’s so elegantl!”.
