“I’M SORRY…”
Angela just heard Thorn spoke again when they reached home. She was observing him the whole journey. His face still looks like he is mad.
“It’s okay. I am not hurt.” Angela smiled. But there is an itch on her heart. She felt like she is lying.
“Resty is one of my best friends. We are childhood friends. I trust him. I cannot believe he can do this to me.” Napabuntong-hininga si Thorn. “It was supposed to be a good night yet we didn’t have dinner.”
“We can still have dinner. What do you want me to cook?”
Thorn didn’t speak. He just looked at her, particularly on her lips. It felt like there are butterflies flying in Angela’s stomach. She felt uncomfortable and sensitive with his gaze. Her throat went dry.
“Thorn?”
“As my wife, I want you to know me. I don’t want to keep secrets on you. Rose is my ex-girlfriend and we didn’t have a good break up. It had a huge impact on me. It made me bitter. But don’t worry about her. She is just a part of my past.”
“But you still love her.” Angela looked at Thorn’s eyes. He also focused his eyes on hers. Her knees went weak.
They were like that for a minute. Angela felt like she is going to melt on Thorn’s gaze. But when he cross the space between their bodies, she went crazy. He kissed her. It didn’t take a lot of time and he carried her to the bed.
Angela felt lost in his kisses and touch. But she reminded not to lose control everytime. She learned her lessons well in the past. Even though she loves Thorn’s touch and kisses, she let herself turn back to reality.
“We are not yet eating…”
“Are you hungry?”
Angela shook her head. She ate a lot in snack time.
“Well, I’m hungry. But not for food. I’m hungry for you…” Thorn said and started to remove her clothes.
Angela closed her eyes. She wanted him. She wanted this to happen. And Thorn is now her husband. There’s nothing wrong on what they are doing. If she got pregnant, Thorn will take responsibility.
Angela should not feel scared. But even though she loves Thorn’s doing, there is a disappointment in her heart.
He was still in love with his ex-girlfriend. He couldn’t love me…
Angela calmed herself. What is her right to feel bad? Yes, Thorn is now her husband. But they were just married in paper. She doesn’t know him well. She doesn’t love him. She couldn’t be hurt.
Angela should not care if Thorn is still a slave of the past. Because she knows she also has ghost of the past.
Angela is tired to get hurt. But does this marriage with Thorn seems to hurt, too?
