Flashback One of the reason why Uiji and I anticipated for our senior years is because we heard pretty much from everyone that this is the best years of our high school life. This is the stage of our life where we might be able to find out what falling seriously in love is like. The senior ball, a little bit more of freedom from the strict parents because they'll began to trust us and our decision then sometimes, we will mess up with that. Damon made my senior year more exciting. He serves as the bold color in my boring palette scheme that balance everything and make it perfect. Cliche it is but we didn't start right. We were enemies. He hates me and when you double the word hate. That's what my heart is screaming for him. "Of all the sports..." Uiji crane up my hand that is holding the baseball bat. "It's fun. Fallon taught me how to play this last summer while you're enjoying the beaches of Maldives." I harshly took back the my hand that's holding the baseball bat. We heard a loud bang of destruction. I closed my eyes and swallowed hard. "Did I hit something?" I whispered the question after I opened my eyes. Uiji is running out of blood. She's nervous, her face is pale and so do mine. "Is it a car?" I asked her again. Uiji shake her head. That's when I started to move to see it myself. With a quivering hands I pulled the resting bat from the tank of a Ducati. There's a big and obvious dent on it. I breathe out and look around. It seems like everyone's world stop spinning for a moment. Their eyes are on me intently. "Do you know whose motorbike is this?" Then a man that embodies a dangerous hurricane came running to the motorbike. I swallowed twice when I figure out that it's the notorious badboy of the university, Damon Cree Reissants. My knees wobble and I lose all of my strength making me lose my grip on the baseball bat. It fell down on the ground and made a sound that caught Damon's attention. He stand up firmly. Giving that prowess Alpha vibe and being a prey that I'm always was even when I'm still elementary. The first thing that came up on my mind to save myself is to run. One. Two. Three. Four. I made a four steps away from my crime scene but then he managed to catch me with his hand. I flinch at the way how his hand is almost crushing my bones inside. "Running away? Really?" "I... I will call my brother to fix this. We can pay for your motorbike. I didn't mean too... it was an accident!" I stammer. He exhaled. "If it's an accident then why are you running away instead of trying to settle it like how a good girl should?" "Damon, l-let me go." I pleaded. He smirk at me cockily. "You know my name?" he sounds amuse but his beguilling brown eyes says otherwise. He slips my hand out of his hold. I immediately took a step back and he maintain our one inch distance by stepping forward everytime I back down. "Admit it. You did it on purpose to win my attention because you like me." He lick his lower lip seductively. One swift and his hand are now resting on my waist like it is the perfect spot to stay upon. "What do you really want from me?" he chanted the question while leaning closer to my face. "Damon Cree!" Damon rolled his eyes in a manly manner before he let go of me and face the owner of that sweet voice yet full of authority. "Yes, baby?" I fixed my uniform and even if searching for diamond is hard. I think its more possible to find than redeeming my composure. "Miss are you okay?" the lady asked me worriedly. Her eyes inspected my body for a potential that she's thinking Damon caused me. The way she touch my shoulder and hand then keep me on her back when she turned to him proves that female Alpha does exist. I wonder who is she. His girlfriend? "Really? I should be the one you're asking that Atasha." She glare at her brother more. "You were harassing her! I only thought you do fights and such I didn't know you're this type of predator too," she said that made the muscles of Damon's jaw to protrude. "What the f**k. Tell her the truth you little---" "Stop scaring her you jerk!" Atasha countered for me. "I wasn't doing anything. She dented my motorcyle with a baseball bat and she's trying runaway." "I told you its an accident and I'll pay for the damages." I defended myself from his accusation. Damon's busht eyebrow shot up while the girl name Atasha's drown by her confusion. "You do?" she murmured. "It's an accident, I said." The bell rang. People who are enjoying the commotion was left with no choice but to get back with their businesses because if not. They will be late for their respective classes. Atasha positioned herself in between Damon and I. "Let's settle this after our class," she said. I nodded my head to agree. "No! We will settle it now---" "She dented your motorcycle's tank but I'll burn it if you won't cooperate, Damon Cree." Atasha pulled my hands. "You're grade 11 too? Let me keep you a company," she said before we start walking to our hall. I give Uiji a follow us look and her feet move to chase us immediately. "My grade 11 years is cursed," I said to Uiji. Our first period teacher left the room ten minutes before his time is over. "I was thinking the same." I throw dagger looks at her. "Why?" Uiji chuckled. "You don't have to agree that fast." She laugh again. "But that's the truth. What do you want me to say?" The remaining subject before our lunch break ended with me ignoring Uiji. When the school bell rang for the third fourth time. It's for the one and half lunch break. I stood up from my chair and grab my bag then walk fastly to the school canteen. Everything that happened earlier is stressing me out. I need to release this out of my system and the effective way to do it is stuffing food in my stomach as if this will be the last time I'll have lunch. "Adi!" Uiji hook her hand on my arms. I continue to walk nonchalantly until I saw the prowess figure of a man standing at the end of the hallway. Hands on the pocket of his trouser and eyes staring at the blank space. It's easy for me to realize that he's running out of patient which is not new. Damon is notorious for being short-tempered. One of the reason why he always get in different fight My feet move back before the other one pivet slowly. Making me face the opposite direction. "Adi, where are we---" I glared at Uiji after I cover her mouth with my hand. "Running away again?" the winter like voice asked. I let go of my bestfriend's mouth but I swear. I wanted to cover it for the rest of her life or until she runs out of breathe and die. "Goodness, Uiji." A smile as bright as the sun came up on my lips as I look at Damon that's now couple of step away from me. "Running away? Who? Me?" I asked him while pointing myself and keeping the smile that's probably making me a big fool now. The unwavering strictness on his pools says he's not buying my lies. "Stop trying. Good girls shouldn't be lying. Have you forgot about that rule?" the fake smile on my lips froze before it turns to a grit. "Good girl?" I tapped my chest. "Me?" I laugh to mock him. "You're not sure about that." Damon lifted my chin using his left hand. "Really though? You have skeleton in your closet?" he curiously ask. Damon smiled flatly. "I have a lot in mine. I know too well who are keeping dirty secrets behind them." He stand up straight and give me his phone. "What do you want me to do with it?" "Cook it.  Make it a well-done steak for your dinner," he answered sarcastically. I gnawed my lower lip at annoyance. I was about to give it back to him when he said, "Press your number and save it. I need it. You have a debt to settle with me remember?" he said quite loud. My eyes that runs around for a few second sees people staring at our direction. "Oh," I said and throw his phone back that he catches skillfully. Damon is meter away from Uiji and I when he shouted, "Don't you dare unpick my call and you'll be dead." Flashback ends It's almost eleven in the evening. I should be sleeping soundly in my bed but here I am soaking myself in the comfort of my lavander scented bubble bath. No matter how hard I tried to forget about what Uiji pointed earlier. It lingers on my mind. "Of course that's pure coincidence. It happened that after all these years I am still clumsy. This means nothing, Adalira." I convinced myself. I don't know what is the exact time when I left my bubble bath and rinse my body. It's probably late and pass my body clock's sleeping time because my eyes are dying to shut its lead. I throw on a pajama and loose shirt. Untie and thoroughly brush my hair before I lay on my bed to get my sleep. One second after my eyes closes. My phone on the nightstand vibrated disturbint me from my sleep. I got up and check it. It's an unregistered number. "Who the hell would call me this late?" I whispered to myself. I don't have any plan to answer it and just in case the caller calls again. I won't let him or her disturb my sleep. I turn off my phone before I put it back on the table. "Good morning, Fallon!" I greeted cheerfully. My brother is on the stove, flipping his special recipe. A banana-chocolate fluffy pancake that I love the most. "Why are you not dress yet?" I look at myself and to my brother again. "What do you mean not dress yet?" I settled on the chair I pulled for myself. My hand reaches for a toast bread and nutella. "Someone is waiting for you outside?" "Someone? Uiji?" "Not her." "Then who?" Fallon snap his finger. "Nicodemus Possilico that's his name, he said." Within a blink of an eye. I was out of the kitchen and running outside to see if Nico is really there. A phone on his massive hand while leaning on his car. That's what he looks like when I found him outside. His brown pools made its quick run to my body before he said something to end the conversation he's having on his phone. "Good morning. Why are you here?" "Why aren't you picking your phone? You even turn it off." My lips round up at the realization that the caller last night is him. "I didn't know its you. You could have send me a message first before calling so---" "I need a date for our company's anniversary ball." He cut me off. I don't know if he doesn't care about what I'm saying or if he's just plain impatient. "Do you want me to find you a date?" it'll be just a piece of cake. If I tell all the fine and beautiful women that I know about this. I am sure that this day wouldn't end without one of them saying yes. I smiled. "Alright. Do you have specific type that you want as your date?" "Ha?" "Ha?" I asked too because clearly we're not on the same page. Nicodemus sighed heavily. "I didn't say find me a date. I want you to be the one, Adalira."
