PROLOGUE
I opened my eyes and the first thing I saw was the strange white ceiling.
After staring into nothing, confusion invaded me... I observed my surroundings. There were medical pieces of equipment beside me and medical machines that hooked up with my body... and there I suddenly felt weak.
Fear consumed me. Where am I?
"W-Who are y-you?" I asked a strange man who was standing beside my bed with his arm crossed.
"Wait? S-Sino ako?" Even if my voice was hoarse, I still asked him questions.
What happened? Where am I? Why don't I remember anything about myself?
I saw him smile. "You're fine now. That's good."
My brows furrowed.
"What happened? Why am I here? "I just keep asking him questions.
"I'll explain it later in our house. For now, rest. I'll call the doctor, and para makauwi na kaagad tayo. By the way... I'm your husband." There's no softness in his voice now.
Husband?
Natulala ako sa sinabi niya at saka lamang ako napaayos ng higa nang marinig ko ang pagtunog ng pinto dahil sa paglabas niya sa kwarto.
Agad kong kinapa kung nasaan ang puso ko.
Maybe I lost my memories, but luckily, I still have the knowledge. I can even speak English with an accent, like it's just normal for me.
But the thing is... why didn't my heart skip a beat when looked at the man who was claiming that I was his wife?
The only thing that I feel is fear. What really happened before I got here?
I hardly closed my eyes when I felt so tired. It felt like had lost something that was so important to me, and I don't even know what it is.
Lost in my own thoughts, I fell asleep.
I awoke in a different room than the one I had previously occupied when I was in the hospital.
I looked around the plain wooden and simple room that am currently in.
While roaming my eyes around, I saw the door of this room open and a handsome man came in and claimed me as his wife.
"So you are awake," he plainly uttered.
I just stared at him when he sat beside my bed.
"Do you feel anything right now? May masakit ba sayo? Just tell me."
I avoided his eyes. "I d-don't remember anything."
He nodded when he heard me. "The doctor told me yesterday that they don't know when you will be able to remember again. It is even a miracle that you survived."
"What really happened?"
"I will tell you slowly. For now, I won't force your mind, it might trigger something."
"But just tell me what happened before I got into the hospital."
"You got into an accident," he answered without explaining.
I want to ask more, but he looks like he's tired of talking to me. I can see it through his eyes.
It's a ham with egg and fried rice.
Maybe I am the one who cooks here in the house as his wife.
"T-Thank you..."
He didn't respond to me and left the room again.
