"Damn"
My phone ringed. I thought it was from the resto pero laking gulat ko na si Rurik pala ang tumatawag. I frowned. Why would he call me? He can't possibly call miles above the ground. I don't know but my heart hammered.
"Sandali lang nak. May call si mama." Tumayo ako at pumunta sa kitchen para sagotin ang tawag.
Huminga muna ako ng malalim bago pindotin ang answer button.
"Hey!" I tried to sound cool.
"What took you so long?" His voice is filled with irritation.
"I am in the kitchen. Napatawag ka? Don't tell me nasa France ka na?" I kidded.
"Where are you?" Hindi parin kumakalma ang boses niya.
"Here? Sa c-condo mo." I laughed nervously.
"Really?"
"O-of course. Why did you call again?"
"Where are you?" Ulit niya sa mas madiin na boses binaliwala ang tanong ko.
