"It's time"
We went out of the crowded dance floor after almost getting into a fight. Dumiretso ako sa bar counter at nag-order ulit ng inomin. The bartender handed me my drink. I have lost count kung pang-ilan na ito. Gusto ko na lang lunurin ang sarili ko. Kulang pa. I want to be numb iyong hindi ko na maramdaman ang kirot sa dibdib ko. Iyong hindi ko na siya naiisip.
“Tama na Dennis!” Mariing sabi ni Lark at mabilis na inagaw ang baso sa kamay ko.
“Lark… let me be…” I tried to get another glass pero tinabig niya ito.
“Ano ba Lark!... I just want… to have fun.”
“No Dennis. This isn’t having fun.”
I shook my head.
“Please Lark… give it to me.” I bit my lower lip hard as my shoulder begin to tremble. Hot tears pooled on the sides of my eyes. “Please.”
