Chapter Nine

JongHyeop knows that his blood was different from human being. He is a devil. His blood is more warmer than normal human blood.That's why Nicole complaining about being warm. The heat inside him is a like a fire. No one can hold on if he let it burst. JongHyeop hold her tight while he carries Nicole gently and carefully at his back before he started to walked. "Why are you so heavy?" He said.

"Are you complaining?" Nicole said angrily.

"I'm not. I'm just telling you." JongHyeop answered back.

"Then put me down! Put me down!" Nicole shouted. "I can walk on my own. That's why I have two feet. Let me go home on my own. I don't need a devil help." She said.

But JongHyeop insisted to carry her. "Just hold on tight or else we both fall down on the ground. And don't shout to loud at my ear. My ear drum will be burst if you shout so loud." He said complaining again.

"Did your ear drum burst?" Nicole asked back giggling.

"Nope." JongHyeop replied shaking his head. "But if you keep continue talking so loud it will really burst." He replied while walking slowly.

Nicole laughed. "I'm sorry." She apologized. "So what will happen to you If I won't die in thirty days? You will go back to hell, right?" She said.

"I don't know?" JongHyeop replied. "Maybe, I will return to hell like you said. Or I will get punish in hell." He said honestly.

"Satan will sure be mad at you." She said still laughing. But Nicole knows that her laughed was a lie. She was really worried to both of them.

"Maybe." He said. "Maybe, I will die in your place." JongHyeop said looking straight at the path that goes thru their house.

Yes maybe. Maybe that will be the worst to happen to JongHyeop. Nicole stopped laughing. Is he serious? What if he will really die in her place? Is that will be her fault? Nicole suddenly feel guilty. She forgot all the consequences they are facing. While JongHyeop chasing her for her death. It will make turn around.

"Will, Satan really do that?" She asked being curious.

"I don't know?" He replied. "Let's just wait what will happen to us. And beside it's not the time, yet. There still another day to think about it."

Nicole felt a little bit sad.

"Then, just return in hell. Explain what really happened here." Nicole suggested. "If, incase you failed with your mission about me, to die." She said still in a sad voice. "And for that I will be sorry for you."

JongHyeop nodded.

"Are you concern about what will happen to me too if I return to hell without you?" He suddenly asked.

"Of course!" Nicole replied to him. "I don't know what will happen to you in hell once you return. And I will feel guilty forever thinking of that. How could I live in peace again? You will die in my place. How could that be fine? It was a cruel decision."

"Then don't think of me when I was gone." JongHyeop suggested. "Just think it was your worst nightmare. And live your life to the fullest without guilt and regrets."

"Do you think I can do that?" Nicole said to him.

"Yes you should? So that you won't feel guilty forever about what happen to me. Just live a new life again."

Nicole don't know what to response. She rest her head on JongHyeop back again. She want to feel the warm on it. JongHyeop back was so comfortable to rest and she suddenly feel a safety. Nicole closed her eyes. She cannot remember how long she was lying down on JongHyeop back until they reached home. Ami was waiting at them at the front door. Nicole pretended to be asleep.She doesn't want to talked what happened.

"What happened?" Ami asked JongHyeop being concerned.

"She got drunk." JongHyeop replied.

"What?" Ami said in disbelief.

"Yup." He answered with a nod.

"How many can of beers did she drink? Why did you let her drink to much?" Ami asked. "You should never let her drink. You must stop her from drinking. She's crazy when she's drunk." Ami explained while laughing.

"Lucky, I didn't stop her." JongHyeop said laughing too. "If she didn't drink that three can of beers, surely she will acted crazy right now in front of us." He replied jokingly.

They both laughed. It was just to cool for them to talked normally and jokes at each other. Nicole heard they are talking about her. Why her best friend always exposed her bad habits to this devil? "I think you should put her now to the room." Ami reminded JongHyeop. "She sleep nice at your back, huh?"

"Uhm, sure." JongHyeop said putting her down to the bed slowly and carefully again. "She's heavy, anyway. My back is exhausted." JongHyeop complained.

"Don't worry I will give a gentle massage your back later." Ami said sweetly. "But before that, you haven't eat yet right?"

Nicole heard what Ami said. She wanted to give JongHyeop a massage. But she can't wake up now. She pretended to be sleep and drunk. Nicole covered her face with the pillow. How can you do this me Ami? What should I do now? Gosh! Sleep Nicole, sleep. But her eyes is not cooperating at all. Her body also because she can hear them talking sweetly and laughing happily.

"Do you want to finish with me this spicy chicken?" Ami asked JongHyeop. Ami switched on the television and they watch the Korean Drama 'My Demon.'

"Sure!" JongHyeop replied. "With a rice, please?"

Ami laughed again.

"At your service, Sir." Ami said sweetly. They eat together while watching television. They are enjoying the show and the food too. They spend the night together. "What do you think about the drama?" Ami asked JongHyeop. "Song Kang, the Korean Actor," she said to JongHyeop. "Do you know him?"

"Good." JongHyeop said while eating. "Yes I know him. The Actor, he is cool." He replied to Ami with a smile.

"Nicole love that show." Ami said. "Hope, you like to watch it too." Ami sai giggling.

"Uhm, well I like it." He said. "His character. He is a demon, right?"

"Yes. That's it." Ami said. "And well, the Actor, Song Kang he is Nicole first crush." Ami tell to JongHyeop her secret. "She is such a crazy girl, right?" Ami said laughing again.

"Wow! What a lucky guy." JongHyeop just said. Nicole wanted to see JongHyeop face and reaction but she's scared to come out on her room.

"Are you jealous of him?" Ami asked in curiosity.

JongHyeop laughed. He was laughing loud that he was almost died because there's a food in his mouth that almost chocked him. Nicole pouted her lips. How can this Devil laughed so cute and adorable when they are together with Ami? No doubt because her best friend is sweet and a kind person. Everyone can get along with her.That's why they are so closed too.

Ami quickly gave him the water.

"Drink." She sad patting his back. "Hey? Are you okay?" Ami said in a concerned face." Feel better now?"

JongHyeop nodded.

"Thanks, Ami." He said.

"Im sorry." Ami apologized.

"No. It's okay." JongHyeop responded raising his one hand that he was alright. "Well, Song Kang is handsome...but we'll, you know? I'm handsome too." He said teasing Ami with a winked.

"Of course!" Ami said laughing. "I'm agree with you."

And they both laughed again. Nicole can't really sleep with those laughing sounds come from them. Even when she covered her ears with pillow but still she can hear them. She tried every position in her bed to get a good sleep but still she can't sleep. Gosh! What's wrong with me? She said to herself.

"Well." Ami said. "I'm just wondering if you are Nicole ex-lover or ex-childhood crush?"

JongHyeop shaked his head.

"No. I'm not!" He said responding to Ami questions.

"Then what's the reason why you know her? And how did you ended up here? How did you met Nicole and how long you are together? What is your connection to her?" Ami asked, knowing that JongHyeop will never answers all her questions.

"Well, I can't tell you all the exact details but I really come from hell. " JongHyeop said pouting his lips.He is just being honest this time.

Ami laughed again. A very loud laugh this time. " I didn't know your a joker?" Ami said still laughing. "You're the same with Nicole. She also wanted to go to hell. You both belong there.What a cute couple. Always denying each other's." Ami mumbled to herself.

JongHyeop smirked. Of course, he was not joking. He was telling the truth. But how can he explain that to Ami? Ami doesn't believe him at all. It's better to don't tell the truth to her. It's not his place to explain everything. Maybe, Nicole can tell her what's the reason why he is here. Why he is living with them?
