[Raquel] It was dark when Ryker and I went home after visiting the neighboring pack. Tonight, when the full white moon arises, Ryker and I will be about to marry. I've noticed that we are already near reaching his pack and once we enter his pack, we have nothing to worry about. “I love you so much, Raquel. You are the only girl that I have wanted to have for the rest of my life. Sorry, but I can't do that anymore.” Tears fell from my eyes when I saw tears in Ryker's eyes. He was crying and the words that he mentioned… It's meaningful. Damn. “What is going on?” Just when I asked him those words, I just witnessed with my own eyes how Ryker was killed right in front of my eyes. A black wolf suddenly attacks our car and kills Ryker out of the blue, even our driver. I was stunned by my direction, and couldn't seem to move after what I found out. The black wolf took Ryker outside, so I immediately followed them. As the black wolf left, I ran in Ryker's direction, took him to embrace him. My tears kept falling into my eyes as I hugged my boyfriend, who was not breathing anymore while his body was covered with blood. “R-Ryker?” I tried to revive him in the hope that I could wake him up. My hands were already covered with blood because I tried to cover his wound. But despite everything I did, I couldn't bring my boyfriend back. He's dead and there's nothing I can do about it but to cry in so much pain. That black wolf killed my boyfriend and I did nothing to help Ryker. I didn't fight the black wolf because everything was unexpected. It just happened out of the blue. “Ryker, please, wake up… You still have to fulfill your promises to me. You can't die. Don't leave me, please!?” I shake his body as tears continue to flow from my eyes. My heart seems crushed into pieces thinking that my other half had already left me. Ryker is my life now. I don't know what will happen to me after his death. I don't know if I can still continue my life. He's my mate and his death was so painful for me. I don't know how to accept this. I don't know if I can move on with this because right now... My heart was in so much pain because of his death. I was in my moment of mourning for my boyfriend's death when I heard so many footsteps coming into my way. I didn't bother to look at them because my attention was on Ryker, mourning for his death. But what happened next captured my attention. Ryker's men got to where we are. They took Ryker from my hand, forcing me to stand up. “You killed the Alpha!” I was stunned by what I heard while my heart was pounding so fast. My eyes turned to all of them, devastated by their accusations against me. “No. I didn't kill the Alpha. Someone killed him and it's not me.” The pack wolves shook their heads as if they didn't believe my explanation. Their eyes turned to my hands, which were covered with blood. My heart suddenly skipped when I realized what could be in their minds at that moment. “Believe me, I am not the killer. I just revived Ryker, that's why my hands were filled with blood. I couldn't even do that to him because he's my boyfriend.” The pack wolves were still not convinced of the explanation and I began to get anxious because they didn't want to believe me. “How could you convince us that you were not the killer when we found Alpha Ryker in your hands? It was just the two of you in here, and we couldn't even find the killer aside from you. Your lame excuses will not help you free yourself from the crime that you did. Therefore, Raquel Woodley, you are under arrest for killing Alpha Ryker. Once you're proven guilty of the crime, death could be the sentence.” My world turned upside down after I heard what the higher pack guards had mentioned to me. He told his men to capture me, locking my hands with handcuffs. I tried to pull out my hand, but they didn't let me escape. “What are you still waiting for? Put her where she belongs!?” Those words rang a bell into my ears, making me greet my teeth. Jillian, my younger sister, had just arrived with some of our pack guards. Her aura was so dark, and I knew what she was coming for. “I didn't kill Ryker, Jillian. You should believe me. Tell dad and mom that I can't kill an Alpha. They will kill me, Jillian. Please help—” Just before I could even finish my sentence, Jillian slaps me. I groaned in pain when I felt her heavy hand on my face. She pulled my hair and slapped me again and again. “You were such a shame in the family, Raquel. How could you kill Ryker!?” Tears fell from my eyes when I heard those words from my family. A family who should defend me, but she won't because I know she's waiting for this day. She's waiting for the day that she can bring me down. Jillian was obsessed with Ryker and just because of what happened to him, this woman would blame me. “How many times do I need to tell you that I didn't kill him? How could I kill the man whom I loved the most, huh?” Despite the pain that I have felt from what Jillian did, I still have to defend myself from her. I have to stand up on my feet even if no one will do it for me. However, Jillian's ears were closed to listen to my side. She commanded the pack guards to drag me and put me in jail, to where she mentioned that I belonged. Jillian wasn't relieved. She hurt me for the last time before they left me in that dark cell and even threatened me. “You will pay for what you did to Alpha Ryker. No one will save you from here. You will die at my hands. I will pursue your death sentence, and it doesn't matter if you're my sister, because it's not important now.” And Jillian pushed me inside. I cried silently and was slowly losing hope that I might die for the crime I didn't do. But there was still a little hope in my heart that I might win this case. However, it didn't go along as I expected because a worse thing had happened after an hour.
