CHAPTER 9

CLAYTON GOMEZ I was beaming from ear to ear while holding the fork and knife. The food looks good, but I'm still not allowed to eat it. I averted my eyes in her direction, and they narrowed when I saw her smirking while looking at me. I feel like she's thinking something funny, but I don't know what it is. I feel weird and confused at the same time because it is not her mannerism to smirk and smile. She always looked like she hated the world, especially when she looked at me, and now it looks like I suddenly opened the door of another universe or something. "Taste it now," she commanded after putting some of the chicken sauce on my plate. I already put the chicken on my plate, so she doesn't need to put it on mine unless I want to eat again after eating plenty. I got so excited because I suddenly felt like there was really something going on today. I mean, she had an attitude earlier, right? She motioned for the food, and I just nodded at her while still grinning. Anyway, I should not feel confused. I should not waste the moment she gave me. Maybe we can also mate later. I'm feeling good about this development. I smashed the yellow thing on my plate before eating it. I don't know what kind of food this is, but it looks good, so I will eat it anyway. Besides, Ivory made this for me. I was still smiling when I finally ate the food she served me. I tasted it. However, my eyebrows met with confusion. I vomitted the foods that I ate when I tasted something funny. It's sour and spicy. I don't know. It's so bad! I looked in Ivory's direction only to see her smiling while looking at me. Her arms are crossed, and one of her eyebrows is up. I knew it! She's behind this. It's not an accident. My mood changed from good to bad! How could she do this to me? "It's such a waste of food. What did I do wrong for you to do this to me?" I asked while looking at her with annoyance. She smirked before answering my question. "There's a lot, which one? First thing first, get out of here because I need to go to work today. You're just a freeloader here. Tss." She turned her back in my direction after saying those words and walked out to go to her own room. I left while staring at the food that she cooked for me. She's really something else. I will spoil her a little since she's the only one that I need right now. I got up and followed her. I thought she didn't work, but I guess I'm wrong. After all, she's living alone. Where else could she get the money that she needs to cover her expenses every day? While walking, I suddenly heard different kinds of footsteps inside the house. I mean, I have good ears, and I can easily memorize the sound that someone makes. This footstep did not come from Ivory or myself, and I'm sure that it did not come from outside. It came from this house. Do we have an intruder? My eyebrows met with confusion. I am in the human world right now, and why else has Ivory made an intrusion into her house? Is there something going on? Right, Ivory! I ran the moment I remembered her. The footsteps are near her room! When I finally saw the door, I immediately opened it without minding what she was doing right now. What if she's hurt now? The door opened easily, and I saw Ivory picking her clothes up for her bed. My eyebrows went up as I stared at her body. Too bad I didn't come earlier when she was getting dressed. By the way, she really has a good body shape; I like her body but not her attitude toward me. "What are you doing here?" she asked without even looking in my direction. Ivory gets her bag and sprays a little perfume on her dress. She has weak pheromones, and I can only smell them sometimes. Now that she's also using perfume, I can't totally smell them. "Why are you using that?" I asked out of curiosity. She turned in my direction, and I saw her dry yet emotionless look again. "I asked you first. Don't answer me with another question. Why are you here without knocking at my door?" She crossed her arms while still looking straight into my eyes. She's trying to intimidate me, but it's nothing new to me. Instead of answering her question right away, I just smiled at her. She's cute when she's acting like this. "Well, I heard footsteps coming from your room. I thought I would help you get rid of the intruder without you asking me first. I did good, right?" She sighed deeply and just opened her bag after hearing my words. What a nice way to say thank you! Tss. "Yeah. I know that." My eyes went wider because of her answer. For real? "Really? Then, why are you still calm, like you didn't hear anything?" I asked with confusion. "There's nothing he could get here, and besides, I already know who that intruder is. I will get rid of him later after work." She looked up, and after a minute, she looked in my direction again. "And to answer your question, obviously, I use perfume so I could hide something. I am living here and fine! I am living here so I could hide my existence." I'm glad that she finally answered my question, but another question clouded my mind again because of her answer. "Why? Humans are not meant to know our existence. They have no idea at all. Only our own pack will realize your existence." Her face suddenly became so serious that I almost got shivers. "You really have no idea, do you? Well, I don't care even if you're just acting in front of me. Enough talking. I will get out now to work. Excuse me." She walked away and left me again with another trivial thought inside my mind. I really don't understand her!
