Chapter Seventeen: Friendly Date

Nang mag uwian na ay sabay din kaming lumabas. "Nandito na yung driver namin, gusto mo bang sumabay? Where do you live?" I asked.

"No need, I have my own driver, do you want to eat at the cafe near here? You can ask your driver to pick you there." He said.

When he said cafe, I craved for the cookies and other pastries in the cafe me and Sage usually eats.

"Yeah sure, we can eat at the Serenity Cafe over there." Saad ko at itinuro kung saan ang direksyon ng cafe na iyon.

"Oh you eat there too? Doon sana kita aayain e, their muffins are good." He said.

"Oh I haven't tried their muffin because I prefer cupcakes and cookies, but I'll taste them later. And oh wait, sasabihan ko pala muna si Kuya Alex, he is waiting for me na kasi e, doon oh," Saad ko at tinuro kung saan naka park yung kotse namin bago mag lakad papunta sa kung nasaan si Kuya Alex.

I asked Kuya Alex to pick me up later at the cafe and he said okay so pumunta na uli ako kay Khai.

"Let's go, he'll wait for us na lang daw later." I said.

"Okay let's go, my driver is at the gate already," he said at nag lakad kami papuntang exit gate.

"If you don't mind me asking, how do you guys met?" He asked out of nowhere.

"With whom?" I asked too.

"With Sage." He answered.

"Ah him... well, nung bagong transfer pa lang siya rito, di niya ata alam na ako ang may ari ng rooftop, he is stubborn, hindi siya umalis sa rooftop kahit tinataboy ko siya, then he even follow me around." Saad ko then reminisced all the memories with him.

"So to be clear, siya yung lumalapit sayo, not you?" He asked.

"Yes, then one day Camilla came and I was so shocked because his actions said that he is so f*****g single but it's literally the otherwise." I said.

"What the hell, and Sage is letting it all happen to you? What a dickhead." He said and my eyes grew wide then laugh.

"Oh gosh, sorry about my words, it just that I can't believe that he let it all happen when it is all his fault, I mean, he could've at least told you that he has a girl." He said.

"Yeah... even when Camille came here, he still follows me around, I'm so tired of avoiding them but he always find his way to go near me."

Pumasok na kami sa sasakyan nila and him being in the backseat with me gives me so much deja vu. It feels like just yesterday it's Sage who I am with.

Hindi ko namalayang nakatitig na pala ako sa kaniya ng matagal kaya iniwas ko na ang tingin ko kasi nakatitig din siya sa akin.

I really should stop thinking about Sage, I'm so down bad.

I blew a deep sigh and I heard Khairus laugh. "That's a deep one."

I smiled and chuckled. "Sorry, I just thought of something."

Nakarating kami agad sa cafe dahil malapit lang naman iyon sa university namin, nakaraan nga nilalakad lang namin to ni Sage noong pareho kaming walang driver.

Pinagbuksan niya ako at pumasok naman ako sa loob, naamoy ko na agad yung freshly brewed coffee nila.

"Give me your order, I'll order it and go find our seat." He said so I gave him my order and my card.

"Why are you giving me your card? Save it for later, I'll treat you." Saad niya at hindi tinatanggap yung credit card ko.

He's just like Sage...

"No, we're not that close to treat me food Khai, accept it." Saad ko sa kaniya.

"No way, I'll pay your food, I brought you here so I'll treat you, go find a seat na." Pagtataboy niya sa akin.

I just shrugged, its his money anyway.

Nag hanap na ako ng magandang pwesto para kainan namin but almost all my favorite spot will just make me remember something about Sage.

Bumuntong hininga na lang ako bago umupo sa malapit sa salamin, kung saan paboritong paborito ni Sage. Because aside sa malamig, it's in front of the window so we'll saw the best view while eating.

After a while, dumating si Khairus at halos dinoble yung inorder ko.

"What the heck, dalawa lang tayong kakain Khai! This is too much!" Saad ko at tumawa lang siya.

"Wait there's more at the counter." Saad niya na lalong nagpakunot ng noo ko. Sobra na nga para sa amin tong dala niya, meron pa sa counter.

Nakahinga ako nang maluwag ng makitang drinks lang namin iyon at iilang desserts. Yes we can take it out but he paid for all that, he is still a student I'm sure he paid using his allowance.

"Let's eat?" Saad niya nang makaupo. I just nod and he gave me my orders. He also gave me some pastries that I didn't order.

"Do you still have allowance? Baka mamaya wala ka ng pang gastos para bukas." Nag aalalang saad ko.

"Don't worry, I work at home, I don't ask my parents for money." He said so nonchalantly.

I pouted. "What's your job?" I asked.

"Nag oonline tutor ako but it's just a side line or kind of a hobby, I just do it for fun and it's paying so good." He said that made me so amazed. Maybe I'll think of doing it later.

We just ate so casually like old friends even thought we just met earlier, I already feel so comfortable with him.

We talk and talked about something even though it's so nonsense but there is no dull moment with him. He is such a good talker.

When we are about to leave he insisted that he'll take me home, so I messaged kuya Alex not to fetch me na.

When we arrived at our village I saw Sage and Camille outside so basically they are outside my house.

"Kapitbahay mo lang si Sage?" He asked.

"Yeah, thank you for taking me home, I appreciated it." I said then got out of the car. I can feel Sage's gaze to me and I just ignored it.
