Matteo's POV
Lumabas ako sa conference room when I heard the news.
The tsunami news spread like wildfire, engulfing everyone in chaos and panic.
The desperate search for answers and a flicker of hope drowned out everything else.
I wanted to take action, to do something, but I felt powerless, trapped in the clutches of uncertainty and fear.
My heart pounded in my chest, my mind racing through worst-case scenarios.
"I can't lose them," I murmured, trembling.
"I should have been there for them," I whispered, my voice filled with remorse and self-blame.
"I should have set aside my ego and stubbornness. Now, I may never get the chance to make things right."
I had allowed my pride to close my eyes on the most important people.
I had pushed them away, believing I could handle everything independently. Now, I understand how wrong I was.
"I need to find them," I declared, determination rising from the depths of my soul.
"I need to find my parents and tell them how sorry I am, how much they mean to me.
I can't bear the thought of losing them."
As the search and rescue efforts continued, I clung to the sliver of hope within me.
"Matteo, nasabi mo na ba kay Aurora?" Enzo asked me.
"Not yet," I replied briefly. Please prepare the plane. We will go to India.
"Do you think she already knows? It's in the news; she might have seen everything," Enzo added.
"I say softly, 'Maybe she still needs to. She's not fond of watching the news.'"
"Pero kailan mo sasabihin?" he asked again.
"Later, I'll tell her later," I responded.
Enzo looked at me with concern in his eyes. "Matteo, you should tell her soon. She deserves to know."
"I know, Enzo, but it's just so hard," I admitted, my voice wavering with emotion. "I don't know how to face her after everything that's happened."
"I understand that it's difficult, but keeping it from her won't make it any easier," Enzo gently advised. "She's under your care, and she's a daughter too. You both need each other right now."
Tears welled in my eyes as I nodded, feeling the weight of the truth in Enzo's words.
Enzo placed a reassuring hand on my shoulder. "I know you care about her deeply, but sometimes, facing the truth together can heal.
She's stronger than you think and appreciates your honesty."
Taking a deep breath, I mustered up the courage to face what lay ahead. "You're right, Enzo. I need to tell her.
Finally, I gathered the courage to seek her out. I found her in the garden, sitting alone on a bench, lost in her thoughts.
I approached her slowly, my heart pounding in my chest. "Aurora," I said softly, trying to steady my voice.
She looked up, and our eyes met. At that moment, I could see the pain and sorrow mirrored in her gaze. "Matteo, you're home," she whispered, her voice barely audible.
"I need to talk to you," I said, sitting beside her. "There's something I have to tell you."
Her eyes searched mine, and I could see the apprehension in them. "What is it?"
Taking a deep breath, I began to recount the events of the tragic cruise ship accident, sparing no detail. As I spoke, Aurora's face turned paler, her hands trembling.
"No, hindi totoo iyan!" she said, tears streaming down her cheeks. "Dad Mom..."
"I'm so sorry, Aurora," I said, wrapping my arms around her in a comforting embrace.
She clung to me, her sobs echoing in the quiet garden. I held her close, letting her grieve.
In that painful embrace, we found solace in each other's presence, knowing we were not alone in our grief.
"Matteo, please bring them back. Hindi ko kaya Matteo. And dami ko pang gustong sabihin sa kanila. Gusto ko pang bumawi please Matteo please bring them back," walang tigil na iyak ni Auroa na lalong ikinadurog ng puso ko.
"I will try my very best Aurora to get our parents back. Don't worry," napaluhang sabi ko.
"Mommmm, Dadddd I am so sorry, I love you," sigaw ni Aurora bago ito nawalan ng malay.
"Aurora wake up sweetie. Please don't do this.
