Alyza’s POV

"Hindi na namin ipinagpatuloy ang imbestigasyon tungkol sa nakawan na naganap sa kompanyan ng kapatid ko, Ija"

Halos gusto kong magdabog at magwala sa sinabi ni Tito Jeric. Ganun na lang ba yun? Porket nawala na si dad ay ititigil na nila ang pagiimbestiga?!

"Why Tito? Dad is your brother! It is rightfully right for you to seek justice! Bakit niyo po itinigil?"

I swear if looks could kills right now kanina pa siguro patay si Tito sa harap ko. I am so pissed! Everyone and their lame reasons keeps on hitting every nerve I have.

"Hindi ba sinabi sa iyo ng nanay mo?" I raise my eyebrows.

Anong kinalaman ni mama?

"Wait what? What's with my mother? Im sure ayaw niya din na itigil ang imbestigasyon"

He laugh and shook his head.

"So... you didnt know.." tumango-tango pa siya na para bang may narealize siya bigla.

"Tito hindi ko maintindihan. Will you please explain it to me." I said desperately.

Gumalaw siya sa kanyang inuupuam bago ako sagutin.

"Your mom decided to stop the imbestigation, ija"

My jaw drop. Literarily. Teka. Si mama?!

Of all people??!

"Ano? Bakit? Walang sinabi sa akin si mama" I said dumbfoundedly.

Halos hindi ko masink-in sa sarili ko ang sinabi ni Tito.

"You should ask your mother, Alyza. I have told you what you want to hear and telling you the whole story is not my part anymore"

I looked at Tito with my eyes confuse and the questions in my mind were starting to pop up.

"Why would mom do that? Dad is her husband! That is impossible!"

Tito stood up and went to me to calm me down. He held me both in my arms.

"You know that your mom and your dad's siblings arent really going along right?"

Tumango ako.

Yes. My mother is not close with my Dad's other siblings. Hindi tulad ng ibang pamilya na close sa kapatid ng mga asawa nila. My mom is different. She's always aloof around Dad's siblings and I dont know why.

At first I thought its just normal to her. Na ganun talaga si mama ayaw niyang makipagsocialize.

Pero sa sinabi sa akin ni Tito ngayon pakiramdam ko ay may malalim na dahilan kung bakit ayaw ni mama sa kanila.

"We have always protected our family name Alyza and you know that no Montessa should get abuse by any bastards"

I gulp and what Tito said.

"And that is why your mother and I cant get along since then. She wanted something that she must not have."

Tito Jeric grab my hand and hand me something.

It was a ring with two little diamonds on it.

"What is this?"

"Matagal ko na yang tinatago. I forcefully get that from your mom. Kinailangan kong kunin yan para protektahan ang kapatid ko pati na rin ikaw."

Did my mom have an affair with another man?

"Kanino galing to Tito?"

Imbes na sagutin niya ako ay tinalikuran niya ako at bumalik sa dati niyang pwesto.

"I have told you so much Alyza. I guess this time you shoukd go to your mom and ask her personally" tumango ako sa sinabi ni Tito.

"Take the ring with you and tell her Im giving it back but once she tries to betray the Montessa name I will have to choice but spill every bad thing about her"

Fear and nervousness crept into me. Pakiramdam ko ay may isang malaking kasinungalingan na bumabalot sa pagkatao ko.

And thinking that my mom is keeping a big secret from me already brings pain in my heart.

What if she had an affair?

What if she tried to betray dad?

"Tito Jeric hindi mo pa sinasagot ang tanong ko. Why did mom stop the imbestigation?

I could feel my surrounding quieter and i felt like its a very classified question.

"Do you really want to know the answer to that Alyza?" May panghahamon na tono sa boses niya.

Am i Ready?

Hindi bat yun naman talaga ang pinunta ko dito?

I want to know everything kahit na magsimula ulit ako sa umpisa ay aalamin ko ang lahat.

"Yes Tito. That is what I came for" matapang kong sagot. I set aside the pain and the doubts.

Just this once I'll be strong. For my father. For the justice he deserve.

"She decided to stop the investigation because she is inlove with the suspect"

Pakiramdam ko ang binuhusan ako ng malamig na tubig sa sinabi ni Tito.

"I know your reaction ija but believe me or not she is."

I tried to speak but no words escape my mouth.

My kind and loving mother inlove with the person that brought my fathers life to an end?

Bullshit!

"She only married my brother for money, Alyza."
