Chapter 56

Nung nagsisimula pa lang ang Vrielle hirap na hirap ng itaguyod ng mga tauhan ko, nung time kasi na yon hindi ako gusting suportahan ni Dad, limited pa yung finances ko walang masyadong investor and all. Ang nagging puhunan ko din talaga sa Vrielle is my ability, I was able to show my skills and my passion for my company and siguro nagtiwala din sila sakin. I was very known as a financial analyst malaking bagay din yon kaya nakuha kong palaguin sa kung ano yun ngayon.

It breaks my heart to know that my Vrielle will soon close its doors. Napapunas nalang ako ng luha na nung naramdaman ko na may pumatak sa pisngi ko.

“So you mean to say pwedeng mabankrupt ang Vrielle dahil sa dami ng investors na mawawala?” tanong ni Drake.

Napa upo nalang ako sa sobrang lungkot.

 Drake looked at me and I wasn’t sure if that was pity or sadness that I saw in his eyes, parehas siguro kasi nakaka awa naman din talaga yung sitwasyon ko ngayon. Who would’ve thought that my life would end up like this. Ang mas malungkot dito nakikita ko yung nangyayari at wala akong magawa.

“Yes po Sir, sinubukan ko na po na kombinsihin yung mga investors na magagawan po naming ng paraan yung nangyari at kaya pong makabangon ng Vrielle pero hindi pa din po yun naging sapat, nagsisimula na po silang magpull out ng mga shares may mga suppliers na din pong nakikipag affiliate na sa iba, yung mga major suppliers po naming ay halos nagsilipat nag anon din po sa mga shareholders.” Sabi ni Vanie kay Drake.

Lalo akong nanlumo sa narinig ko, yung kompanya na itinaguyod at pinalago ko parang hinipan ng isang napakalakas na hangin at ngayon ay unti unti ng papabagsak. Narerealize ko na ganon pala kabilis yung buhay na you thought you still have life ahead of you and then suddenly it was taken from you.

“How much fund is needed para masustain ang Vrielle until 2 months?” seryosong tanong ni Drake kay Vanie.

Napatingin naman ako sa kanya, he wasn’t looking at me also instead he was intently looking at Vanie waiting for her answer.

“Ahm uh sir Drake hindi ko po sigurado but around 35 million po siguro kung within this two months,” sagot naman ni Vanie.

Tumango tango si Drake sa kanya.

“Okay, I’ll have my personal secretary go tomorrow to Vrielle I’ll shoulder all the expenses for the next two months. Do not remove any single employee.” Drake firmly said to Vanie.

Vanie was a little bit trembling siguro dahil she didn’t know na kaya pang isalba yung Vrielle.

“T-talaga po Sir?! S-sige po Salamat po!” sagot niya kay Drake while shortly smiling.

I know how happy she must have been, magkasama naming pinalago ang Vrielle. Hindi lang basta ako I have my people with me, I treasure them all. Kahit pa sabihin na napaka istrikta kong boss sa kanila I will never take advantage of any of them, hanggang kaya ko I see to it that they get the compensation that measures up to their performances and expectations.

“I will buy 55% of shares of Vrielle, pupunta ako sa kompanya tomorrow morning. You guys won’t have to lose Vrielle. I know how much Akiesha put her all in Vrielle. I wouldn’t let it go to waste.” Sagot ni Drake sa kanya.

Tumango lang si Vanie at muling nagpasalamat sa kanya.

Sasagot pa sana si Vanie nung biglang mag ring ang phone nito.

“Excuse me po Sir,” paalam naman ni Vanie at saka lumabas para sagutin ang tawag.

“Salamat Drake,” sabi ko sa kanya at saka sya ngumiti sa akin.

“I don’t know if after two months we will be able to find my body and if everything will be fine, sobrang sugal na yung ginagawa mo para sa akin. I don’t think I can ever pay you for all of this.”

Nahihiya kong sabi sa kanya.

“You don’t have to pay me anything, just seeing you happy and being with you after all of this is more than enough for me Kiesh, nothing is too much if it was for you,” Drake sincerely said to me.

I remember he said the exact things to me…

I was walking down the aisle…

I didn’t know that a day like this would come. With my white dress on and my perfectly fixed hair and my beautiful make up everyone was telling me how beautiful I am.

I am holding the bouquette of roses while walking as I see a man on the end of the aisle he is perfectly smiling looking at woman that he dearly love.

Pagdating ko sa upuan ng entourage I looked again and saw the bride slowly taking her steps she looks so magical!

I never really thought na makaka-attend ako ng ganitong kasal kasi I don’t really have much friends. We attended a wedding, it’d Drake’s second degree cousin on his Abuelo’s side.

An the same row as mine I saw Drake intently looking at me, he was looking at me as if we were the only one’s in this church. I couldn’t help but laugh at his reaction.

“What the hell are you looking at?” I mouthed at him.

He just laughed at my remarks.

The ceremony continues and it was not too long when the reverend announced that they are already husband and wife.

Pagkatapos ng church ceremony we took a picture with the newly weds. I got my purse and saw Drake walking towards me flashing his white teeths and his infamous smile.

“How was the wedding ceremony?” tanong nya sa akin sabay akbay.

I just laughed at his question.

“Why would you ask me? Ako ba ang kinasal?” natatawang sagot ko naman sa kanya.

Kinuha nya yung kamay ko at saka yun hinawakan ng mahigpit.

“I was just wondering if you wanted this kind of wedding, if you will like church wedding or maybe beach wedding or a garden wedding perhaps?” he said and then looked in to my eyes.

“What the hell? Hahaha!” that’s all I answered him.

“Whaaat?! Hindi mo ba na vivisualize na ikakasal din tayong dalawa? Nakaka sakit ka ah.” He said to me and hold his chest acting as if he was deeply hurt by what I said.

Tawa lang ako ng tawa kasi arte sya ng arte na akala mo talaga naman na hindi kami magpapakasal na dalawa.

“I didn’t say that, kaya lang kasi wala pa nga tayong one year tapos iisipin na agad natin ang kasalan? Parang napaka imposible naman non at saka nararamdaman ko na lolokohin mo pa ako, I will wait until that day bago tayo magpakasal at saka ako makikipag-break sayo.” I told him and stuck my tongue out on him and walked towards his car.

Naiwan sya don nan aka nganga sa sinabi ko. Hahaha! But I was just kidding ofcourse I want to marry him. I cant even picture myself with someone else I am sure that it will be him or it wouldn’t be with anybody else. That is how sure I am with him.

I know in my heart that Drake already got me, I never let my guard down to anybody but him. And I am very sure that Drake feels the same way.

Pagdating nya sa parking hindi nya pa agad na binuksan yung pinto. He was looking at me as if I have three heads.

“What did you say there?” he asked me.

Drake looked so serious but I just laughed at him.

“Ano ba? That was a joke! Come on mahuhuli tayo sa reception! Tayo nalang ang naiiwanan dito oh. Umalis na din ang Mom and Dad mo, let’s go na.” I said to him trying to avoid the conversation.

Naku pagpinatulan ko itong pagtatampo nya hindi kami makakaalis agad for sure.

“What???” I asked him again kasi parang wala pa din talaga syang plano na kumilos he was just standing there looking at me like a kid who’s having a tantrums.

“B come on, we’ll be late.”

This time I said that in a very serious tone. Napa sighed nalang sya at saka inunlock yung sasakyan. Kahit na naiinis sya sa akin he still opened the door for me.

“Thanks!” I said to him when he was also inside the car.

“We are not goiong any where until you answer me miss.” He said again.

I couldn’t help but just laugh at him. Ang kulit nya talaga!

“I was just kidding alam ko naman na hindi mo yun gagawin,” I said to him for him to be able to clear his mind out of that idea.

Natatawa nalang talaga ako.

“No. all jokes are half meant!” parang bata pa din na sagot nya sa akin.

“Hindi ngaaa! Hahaha I promise. We both know how much we love each other right? You are my core B. I can’t possibly be with someone other than you.” I said to him and gave him a peck on the lips which made him really happy.

“Okay, forgiven hahaha!” masayang sabi nya sa akin.

I just laughed at him.

Hinihintay ko na umalis kami pero hindi pa din nya pina-andar yung sasakyan. He look so nervous, may mga butil butil pa sya ng pawis sa noo nya.

“Hey! What’s wrong? Tara na.” I said to him but still hindi nya pa din pina-andar yung sasakyan.

“I- ah um,” that’s all that he said.

“Anong I ah um? Tara na B! Gutom na ako!” pangungulit ko sa kanya kasi I am already famished.

Hindi kasi ako kumain ng breakfast dahil medyo masikip sa akin yung dress na ipinagawa ni Drake nagkamali ata yung seamstress ng sulat ng size ko luckily kasya pa din naman but I had to skip breakfast para maging mas komportable syang sootin for me.

“There’s a pringles there at the compartment, yan nalang muna ang kainin mo.” Sagot nya sa akin.

At dahil nga sabi kong nagugutom na talaga ako I decided to get the pringles but then when I opened the compartment I didn’t see the pringles.

I saw this really tiny very beautiful and classy box.

“Ano to B?!” sabi ko sa kanya.

Instead of answering me, he got the tiny box and opened it for me.

“I wanna give this to you, pero sa mas romantic way and place sana not in this damn parking lot haha!” he said as he take the ring out of the box.

Oh God! It’s beautiful! It has this medium sized red diamond in it God! I just can’t explain it. It’s really beautiful.

“Don’t tell me magpopropose ka na sa akin Tres?! I will really smack your head!” banta ko sa kanya.

Tawa lang sya ng tawa sa sinabi ko sa kanya.

“I knew you would say that!” sagot nya sa akin while laughing his heart out.

“Eh ano nga to?” I nervously said to him kasi I am worried. Ang bata pa naming ofcourse I llove him but still I don’t want to rush things! I still have more in my mind, I wanna do more and be more and if I will commit myself in that kind of relationships I wanna to be a hundred percent committed to it. I don’t want to be half heartedly committed to him.

“Hey! Why are you trembling?!” he said to me worriedly.

“kasi hindi pa ako ready and I don’t wanna lose you also.” I said to him sincerely.

Pagka-sabi ko noon ay may kinuha pa sya sa loob ng box. Isa iyong necklace shain. Kinuha nya yon at ginawang pendant yung singsing.

“I am not proposing to you yet Kiesha, this is my promise ring. This is our family heirloom, I am giving this to you as a promise that you will only be the woman in my life. Ikaw lang and one day when you are ready, I will be the one to put this ring on your finger. I love you so much Kiesh,” Drake said and then kissed me on the lips.

I couldn’t help but feel so light as is the heavens were telling me that you got this. I am just so lucky to have him.

“Isn’t this too much? You can give me any ring I will treasure it, it doesn’t have to be your family’s heirloom ring Drake this is really too much!” I told him.

I know that we are both sure with each other but their family ring is no joke!

Drake just smiled at me and gave me a kiss.

“If its for you Kiesh, nothing is too much. Nothing is too much for you Love.” He kissed me again and gave me his most warm hearted smile.

Yes he used to tell me that.

Nothing is too much if it was for me.
