CHAPTER 31: Swallowing Pride

Nag-iwas siya ng tingin kay Jarred. Naiinis siya dahil hindi siya nito kinampihan, pero ang mas nagpainis sa kanya ay ang reality na nasasaktan siya dahil hindi siya nito kinampihan. Saan nanggagaling ang sakit? She couldn't even admit her own feelings now. She knew there was something growing inside her that was all about him. Pero hindi niya pwedeng tanggapin, hindi niya pwedeng aminin. Because if she would let that grow, ito ang magiging balakid sa hustisya'ng pinipilit niyang makamit para sa kanyang mga magulang.
No matter how proud and superior she was to herself, she swallowed it all, and slowly fell to her knees. Jasmine was the most satisfied na makita siyang lumuluhod.
Victoria looked down on her as she bowed before them.
"Patawarin niyo po ako. Parang awa niyo na, kailangan ko po ng trabaho."
She didn't see Victoria grin from ear to ear.
Jarred scoffed. Hindi nito lubos maisip kung gaano ka lalim ang rason niya to be with the family that the rude and proud woman like her could kneel before them.
He shook his head while smirking. "Why are you doing this?" Hindi nito maiwasan ang magtanong. Napatingin ang lahat dito maliban sa kanya na nanatili lamang nakayuko. She didn't want them to see her evil face.
"Of course, she was desperate to get a job, son. What other reason could there be??" Victoria wrinkled her forehead.
Her eyes widened when blue bills showered her. Si Sebastian ang naghuhulog ng mga perang tig-iisang libo.
"Nakakagulo ka sa pamilya namin. You're fired!" The last blue bill fell to her head.
She smirked. If that man did not kill her parents, kapiranggot lang ang mga perang inambon nito sa kanya sa perang mayroon sana siya. Whatsoever, her wealth now was greater than theirs anyway. Hindi alam ng mga hudlom na ito that she owned 5 towers in different countries. It all started when her parents' profit went to her sa tulong ni Veronne. Kung hindi dumating si Vernonne sa buhay niya ay ang lahat ng ari-arian ng mga magulang niya ay napunta na lang sana sa iba't-ibang mga charity. Ngayon siya na ang may sariling charity. Pinalago niya kasi ang profit ng mga magulang. Sa mundong ito, only Tony and Vernonne knew that she's a secret billionaire.

She used to believe when she was young that they did kill themselves. Guzmans did not only take their lives, they also manipulated her innocent mind. There was no way they could get away with it. Ang hustisya ay hustisya. Kaya kaya niyang gawin ang lahat makuha lang ito.
She let her tears drop like rainfall.
"Parang awa niyo na po, Don Sebastian." She sobbed.
"Tito."Malambing ang tinig ni Jasmine. Nakatayo ito sa tabi ni Sebastian.
Nag-angat siya ng tingin para mapanood ang drama nito.
"Patawarin na po natin si Olivia. Kawawa naman po siya." Jasmine bent and extended her arms to her.
She gulped and grabbed her hand.
"Napakabait mo talagang bata, Ija." Sebastian tapped Jasmine's shoulder. That girl exchanged a smile.
Sebastian turned to her. "This would be your last warning. If you ever harm Jasmine again. Ako mismo ang magpapatapon sa'yo kung saang iskwater ka man nangggaling." He coughed.
She bowed and thanked them repeatedly. She even asked Jasmine for forgiveness. From now on mas hahabaan pa niya ang pasensya kay Jasmine and would try to get by her side. She just realized that she needed to build an alliance with everyone. The more ally, the less foe. All she had to was manage her anger issues, strengthen her patience, and learn to swallow her pride. But Jarred was an exception because he already knew a little of her confidential. She could, however, do something about him, such as avoid getting on his nerves.
She went out of Jasmine's room not only because nasusuka siyang manood ng kaartehan nito, but also because she was told to do so.
Naupo siya sa isang waiting chair sa lobby na hospital. Tatawagan niya sana si Tony pero nakita niyang papunta sa kinaroroonan niya si Jarred, nanlilisik ang mga mata nito. That jerk appeared to be on the verge of starting a conflict, but she remembered to manage her temper from now on.
"Cassandra, be good. Cassandra, calm down," she mumbled to herself as she watched him approaching her.
