Chapter 17
Rainiellaine’s POV
After my classes I went to the restroom then I went to one of the cubicles. I was supposed to go out when I heard a group of girls talking.
“Alam mo girl, buti nalang taga patay na si Summer Choi noh.”
“Oo nga. Mas bagay naman kasi si Prince Ice kay Callirhoe.”
“Maganda na, mabait at magalang pa. DI tulad nung Summer na yun mayabang at masama ang ugali.”
I clenched my fist hearing them say such things. They are all insolent.
I removed my glasses to wipe the tear that fell from my eyes.
“Alam mo girl, si Summer Choi daw yung pumatay sa childhood sweetheart ni Prince Ice.”
Summer Freia is dead and her legacy must not be tampered like this.
“Yung Delphyne? Grabe ang psycho niya naman.”
They are clueless of how much honor the woman they are backstabbing gave to this place. The reason they have great credentials just by being from this school.
I went out then I saw how shocked they were.
“S-sino ka?” one of them said
“Hi! I’m Rainiellaine Lopez. I’m a transferee.” I introduced in a jolly tone
“K-kanina ka p-pa?” they stuttered
“Why? Is there something I shouldn’t hear?” I asked back with my innocent smile
My My. You shouldn’t talk about someone else behind their back.
Especially if that person is dead.
“W-wala.” They said and went out
“Ay Multo!” Catherine exclaimed
“Makamulto ka ah.” I joked at her
“Rainiellaine? Anong nangyari sayo? Bakit ang putla mo?” she asked
“Ayos lang ako.” Sabi ko
That’s when I noticed. Yeah. Catherine’s right. I am pale.
In the mirror, I can see my reflection. Or is it really me?
“Anong problema Rainiellaine?” Catherine asked
“Nothing.” I said then we went out of the restroom
I was walking along Catherine when my eyesight became blurry.
“RAINIELLAINE!!”
I just felt myself floating before I lost consciousness.
Ice’s POV
I was able to catch Rainiellaine.
They were in the stairs already. She’s lucky I’m just behind them.
I carried her to the infirmary.
“Anong nangyari?” Nurse Joy asked
“Bigla lang pong nahimatay si Rainiellaine habang naglalakad kami buti nalang nasalo siya ni Kuya Ice.” Catherine explained
Nurse Joy placed her hand on Rainie’s forehead then she looked at us worriedly
“May contact number ba kayo ng magulang niya o ng mga kamag-anak niya?” she asked
“She live with her friends.” I said
“Nasaan? Kailangan niya nang maiuwi. Ang taas ng lagnat niya.” Nurse Joy said
“I know her address.” I said
“Si Kuya nalang po maghahatid kay Rainiellaine.” Catherine said
I was suppose to carry her when she started moving. A little later she sat up.
“Nasaan ako?” she asked
“Nasa infirmary ka, Rainiellaine.” Catherine answered
“Ija? Nasaan ang parents mo?” Nurse Joy asked
“Parents? I don’t have parents anymore.” She answered with a bitter smile
“Ahm eh yung guardian mo?” Nurse Joy asked
“Hindi na po kailangan. Papasok na po ako. Late nako.” She said and tried to stand up but she almost fell so I catched her
“Rainiellaine, magpahatid ka nalang kay Kuya Ice. Ako nalang magbibigay ng excuse letter mo sa lahat ng klase niyo.” Catherine said
“Hindi na.” She said
“Don’t be stubborn.”I said
She went silent then she slowly nodded.
I assisted her to the parking lot until we reached my car.
I am carrying her bag then I started to drive my car.
The whole ride was silent.
“What did you do? How come you got sick.” I asked her
“This is nothing.” She said
“Nothing? Are you out of your damn mind? You collapsed.” I told her
“It’s not the first time. I got sick before.” I heard her murmur
When we arrived at her house she insisted that I should go back to school but I remained here.
“You should rest.” I said
“Hindi na kailangan. Magbibihis nalang ako.” She said
“Sleep.” I ordered her
“Alright.” She forfeited
I left her room then I went to their kitchen and cooked soup for her.
I looked for a medicine kit but there was no medicine for fever just for allergies, rashes and such.
I saw a picture of kids in their living room.
My eyes landed on one of the kids in the picture.
Wait. That kid.
That little girl is the same kid I saw in Mom’s study.
Then there was this large picture hanged in the hallway in their room.
On one side was the five of them and on the other was

IMPOSSIBLE!
It was the Seasonial Burn. Apoy’s g**g.
There must be a mistake. This could just be a coincidence.
I ignored what I saw then went to the nearest store to buy medicine.
I bought 3 then I went back to their Mansion.
I prepared a bowl of soup and water then the medicine on a tray at carefully went to their room.
They don’t have any bodyguards?
Only the five of them stays in this house then.
I placed the tray on her nightstand then carefully woke her up.
“Andito ka pa pala? I thought you already left.” She said
“I didn’t. Here eat.” I said and helped her sit down then took the bowl and spoon
“Ako na.” She said but I declined
“Magpagaling ka. I’ll let you be independent after that.” I said
I don’t know but she hold this special place in my heart.
It feels as if my heart knows her very well.
I fed her the soup then gave her the glass of water and the medicine
“Salamat.” She said
“Ngayon ang alis niyo diba? You should go.” She said in a low voice
“I will call Mom to inform that – No need, Rain. I’ll be fine.” She said
“Rainie, you’re sick. Let me take care of you.” I told her
Why the f*ck do I have this urge to take care of her?

“Bahala ka.” She surrendered
“Matulog ka na.” I told her
“Thank you.” She said
I stayed in her room until I didn’t notice that I fell asleep.
I was awakened when I felt the bed shaking.
She’s shaking.
“Rainie? Rainie?” I shaked her until she calmed down.
I held her hand.
Her hands are freezing.
“Cold.... cold..” she kept on mumbling
She’s sweating already.
I removed her blanket but I was surprised when she pulled me.
I almost land on top of her.

I need self control. She’s tempting me.
Her sweat is travelling from her neck to her chest.
SH*T!!
Get back to your senses Ice. She’s sick.
“R..Rainie.” I said and removed her hands from me
Damn it!!
She was still shaking so the least thing I could do was hug her.
She went silent then soon I felt her breathing evened. She’s asleep again.
I was about to sit when she turned and hugged me.
She’s already dreaming.
Aira’s POV
“Where’s Rainiellaine?” pambungad na tanong ni Kieth samin
“Ikaw ang kaklase diba?” pambabara ni Lana
“She skipped class.” Sagot niya
Where did Rainiellaine go?
“And your professors?” tanong ni Icelle
“They excused her.” Sagot nito
Excused?
But why?
We went to the parking lot to go home and see if Rainiellaine’s home.
“Ang sweet ni Prince Ice kanina no?”
“True bakla. Ipinagbuhat niya pa ng bag yung babae.”
“Girlfriend niya ba yun?”
“Baka pero infairness ah maganda kahit nakasalamin.”

Our attention was taken by that last statement. We turned to each other then we walked towards the group of girls and gays
“Excuse me.” I said
“Bakit?” the gay asked
“May nakita ba kayong babaeng naka uniform ng tulad ng samin tapos nakasalamin?” Tanong ni Lana
“Oo.” Sagot nung babae
“Nakaorange na salamin, tapos mahabang itim na buhok?” Tanong naman ni Jade
They suddenly looked at each other and shrieked
“Siya yung kasama ni Prince Ice kanina!” sabi nung isa pang bakla.
I thought Rainiellaine said it would be the last time?
“Ah sige thank you.” I said and we went to our van and I drove home.
When we arrived, I spotted Ice’s car in front of our house
He’s still here?
We went in and scattered.
I went to the kitchen to cook but what surprised me is there’s a soup.
I tasted the soup, it tastes good.
I went out then we met at the living room.
“Any sign?” Tanong ni Lana
“She’s sick.” Sabi ni Icelle
That explains it.
“Paano mo nalaman?” tanong ni Jade
“She’s pale earlier.” Sabi niya at umakyat na
Yeah she’s right.
Rainiellaine was pale this morning but I thought it was just because she’s fair skinned.
“Hinatid ni Ice si Rainiellaine dito sa bahay at siya rin ang nag alaga kay Rainiellaine?” Jade concluded
We looked at each other wide eyed.
Damn.
We have to get Ice out of here.
Before Samantha wakes up.
We went to Rainiellaine’s room and we saw Rainiellaine hugging Ice while she’s sleeping
Ice seemed to be asleep too.
I saw a tray in the bedside so I took it silently.
I brought it down but I saw something.
Wait a minute.
DAMMIT!!
Ice saw the picture on the hallway.
No!
He can’t. He mustn’t.
Samantha would be so furious.
I went back to Rainiellaine’s room and I saw that Ice is already awake.
He stood up and placed a pillow beside Rainiellaine which Rainiellaine hugged.
I escorted him out if the house.
“What’s your connection to the SBG?” tanong niya na ikinatigil ko
“What happened to Rainiellaine?” Sabi ko bilang pag-iiba ng topic
“Rainie had high fever but she’ll be fine soon.” He said and rode his car
“Thank you, Ice. Thank you for taking care of Rainiellaine.” I said
“She’s my friend.” He said and left
I suddenly thought. What if Samantha knew about this?
Will she still hate Ice? Whill she still stop Rainiellaine from getting close to him?
