Chapter Six

448 Words
I laid on my bed and wondered how I survived my 1st week at the restaurant. It's Saturday and I'm off for today. I can feel how my arms and waist almost hung loose because of lifting boxes of our stocked ingredients which arrived yesterday. I'm too weak to move a muscle. I'm starving but I don't want to move around. I closed my eyes and tried opening them without my spectacles. I may not see everything clearly but I can still see with my eyes. I heard knocks on my door and pondered whether to open it or not. I remembered my 'apartment-mate' , Sheila. Don't want her to wait for me too long, I struggled to get up and grabbed my spectacles which was laying on top of my side table. With me only in my pajamas and disheveled hair, I stood up and in barefoot, walked towards the door to open it. "Good morning, ma'am. Miss Clarinet Sizon?" The delivery guy of a famous chinese restaurant asked with a paper bag full of their food. I nodded and raised an eyebrow. "I did not order any food." I racked my brain if I sleep talked and ordered food. But I only got dizzy. "This is already paid, Ma'am. " The delivery guy smiled. "Just sign in here." "Who ordered it, anyways?" I asked still not doing what he requested. "The sender doesn't want to be named, Ma'am. Can't you please just sign and receive it? I don't want to get reprimanded at the office." He asked and scratched his head. I silently signed my name and claimed the foods and thanked him before locking my door. I went to the dining table and placed the dumplings, chocopao and shanghai rolls on it. Luckily, rice was included with the dumplings and shanghai rolls that was ordered by the sender. I'm still torn if I should eat these or because I am afraid that it has some witch's spell on it but my stomach betrayed me. It's already 9:30 AM. I'm not surprised why my stomach reacted that way when I woke up. I pulled out a plate and got my utensils and a glass of water before digging in. In no less than twenty minutes, I am full. I even burped afterwards. I was about to throw it into the trash bin when a note fell from the styrofoam. I picked it up and read. It was written in bold, typewritten letters. To: Clarinet Eat this. Don't worry. I also sent food to other employees. So, stop assuming I only sent you these foods. From: Onyx De Silva ? "De Silvaaa!!!" I groaned in frustration.
