Mission X: Amanda
Mission X: Amanda I'm leaning on my Red Chevrolet Corvette car with a lollipop on my mouth. I'm in front of an appliances store here at the 5th Avenue of Manhattan in New York City. This is the 10th store that we robbed for this day. While Amanda is busy doing her thing, I am the one who'll going to watch here outside if something happens. I'm staring at the television flashing different scenes of the new movie "Black Panther II", that is now currently showing on the cinema. I even heard the woman says "Wakanda Forever!". It looks like a great movie, maybe I'll just rent the whole cinema so that we could watch it together. After all, we manage to get more than enough of money we want. I think we deserve a treat from this hell of a week of robbery. I felt that everybody seems to stare at me. No, scratch that—on my car. I plastered my sweetest yet fake smile to everyone. Jealous? Should be. Of course, with a handsome man like me and a gorgeous car like this; who wouldn't be jealous? My eyebrow suddenly raised to the blonde girl who's walking towards me wearing a fitted black dress. The wind blows making her hair flow like a wave in the ocean. I looked in her eyes straightly. "Wow, what a nice car you have there!" She giggled. She walks toward me and leaned on my chest while squeezing my biceps. I admit that I'm enjoying what she's doing right now but no one does that way better than Amanda. I'm sure if Amanda would see us like this; this girl would probably on the ground, crying in pain. Amanda is not just a hot chick, she's unique out of all the girls that I've met—she's the fire. "Do you wanna go somewhere . . . private?" she asked. I was about to shove her away when we suddenly heard a voice. "Nice! Flirting while we're on the middle of doing something." She smirks at me then faced the girl, looking at her from head to toe. I can see the annoyance that written all over the face of this blonde girl. Amanda is just staring at her with no emotions. Cold-blooded. Even though, Amanda's appearance is as hot as a raging fire; her attitude is as cold as unbreakable ice. You wouldn't wish to mess with her. The girl stomps her feet—facing me. What is she? A child? She pouted her lips, "Come on, come with me. Let's just leave her here." "Leave the key," Amanda commanded. I immediately looked at her. Is she jealous or not? "No! We'll take the car," the blonde girl says. The blonde girl went to the door of the passenger seat. She's having struggles to open the door because it's still locked. So stupid. Amanda and I are just looking at each other. Testing me, darling? "C'mon open this damn door. Make it quick!" she shouted, "I can't wait for you to use me in every possible way you can. Not unlike that girl, so useless." Uh-oh! The last thing you want her to hear is she's useless. Poor girl. In just a second, Amanda made a swift move. She rolls her body through the roof of the car. When she meets the other side, she immediately grabs her head and smack it onto the window of the car. She keeps on doing that until the window broke. I take one cigar and light it up. I can hear the girl grunting so hard. I see Amanda grabs a piece of a broken glass and used it to slit the blonde's girl throat. Her blood flows like a river. When she's done, she went to the driver seat—leaving the blonde's girl body drowning in her own blood. "You'll stay here or you'll come with me?" she asked with a cold tone. I smiled at her and start jogging all the way to the passenger seat. I even kicked the blonde's girl body for me to get on the car. "Let's go," I said. Without any single thought, she started the engine and drove away. We came across a gasoline station with a convenience store at the side of it. Amanda says that she wants to buy some beer in a can. We both wear our masks and disguised ourselves like an ordinary person. I'm wearing a blue and red jacket with a navy camouflage sleeveless shirt on the inside; Amanda is wearing a cropped top shirt and skirt with a fishnet stocking on her thighs and arms. I also noticed that she wears a wig with a blue hair color. Wait, isn't this the hair of the girl we killed a few weeks ago? "It suits you," I said. I whistled naughtily and she just glares at me. So sexy! As soon as we entered the convenience store, Amanda went straight to the beverage section while I'm waiting her in front of the cashier. A teenage boy who's in charge at the cashier is busy watching a basketball game between Los Angeles Lakers and Rockets. He groans when a news suddenly flashed on the screen. It's a news about the robbery that we did a few hours ago. Our faces and names are written on the screen. Damn it! I looked at Amanda as she was looking at me. She hurries and drag the beer cans and chips that she's holding in her arms into the counter. She gave the cashier boy a Hundred dollars. She immediately took the change before the cashier boy gave it to her. We rush into the exit of the convenience store before they could recognize us. I even bumped into an old lady making her dropped her wallet. Some of her money scattered on the floor. I gave to her the Five Hundred Peso Bill near me. Seriously? Peso bill in US? We hopped into the car and she starts driving away from that place. From the next few days, posters with our faces and names we're plastered on the posts and walls in the street. We rent a motel far away from New York City. I startled when Amanda went out from the toilet room wearing a robe while drying her hair using the towel that she's holding. "What?" she asked while raising her eyebrow. I chuckled, "Nothing. You're just too beautiful and . . . hot." I was about to hugged her when she pushed me away. I laughed when she does that. I really love when she's irritated. "Stop laughing," she said while glaring at me thinking it would stop me. If her glares are daggers, I'm probably dead by now. She suddenly strangles me with a towel. I'm in a state of shock because of what she did, that's why I can't fight her immediately. She throws me into the bed and jumped on top of me. She switched the towels with her arm—pressing it more downward with her another arm. The air starts to leave my body. Any minute I can die because of getting suffocated by this woman. "G-go Amanda . . . C-choke me," I hardly said. My vision starts to blur. Before the darkness succumbs me, I found myself coughing and chasing my own breath. I smirk. I knew she won't go that far. My dear Amanda. "I think someone's calling you," she said then handed me my phone. As soon as I see the caller's ID, I went to the balcony. "Where are you, Joel?" the man on the other line asked. "Just chilling here at the motel." I looked at Amanda who's staring at me with confusion in her eyes. "I need specific place, Joel. Or you want me to bomb the place where you at right now?" "Chill Mr. Jan, don't be so hotheaded. I'm just kidding." I laughed. He just stayed silent for a while. "Are you done? Shall I send the bomb to you right now?" "The Ritz – Carlton. 10th Avenue of The Arts, Philadelphia." "Alright." Then he hung up the phone. How rude! Right when I was about to enter the room, my phone suddenly vibrated. I got a text from an unknown number. From: +1 NXX-NXX-XXXX Meet me at the Fountain Porter, tomorrow. 1601 S 10th St. Philadelphia, Don't bring Amanda with you. "Who's that?" she asked me curiously. I hide my phone to my pocket. "Nothing. Just a random delivery guy who dialed a wrong number," I answered. She seems to buy my reason. She dives into the bed and start browsing on her cellphone. I lay down beside her and hugged her at the back. I kisses her neck down to her shoulder, "I love you Amanda . . . You're forever embedded in my heart." It's midnight. Amanda is fast asleep. I grabbed my coat and the key of the car. I've decided to go there earlier than the said plan. I entered the Fountain Porter and went to the table at the corner. I texted the number that I'm already here. Few hours of waiting, he finally arrived. He's with his two men wearing a black American suit. I stand up and offered him, "Have a seat Mr. Jan." He didn't say anything. Phew! I should behave myself and not go against him. It's the only way to protect myself and Amanda. "What is this all about?" I asked him. He looks at me seriously. He removes his glasses and faced me. "I'll go straight to the point, Joel. If you did what I wanted, I'll grant you your wish and I will protect you in any way I can. You don't need to hide in some places. You know that I have many connections, right?" I simply nodded, "Wait, is this about the thing that you told me months ago when we've met?" "Why? I told you. I won't accept your no." "Then this talk is now over." I grabbed my keys and went outside but before I touch the doorknob, he shouted something that makes me stop. "I found her." I turned my back and faced him. He's grinning ear to ear. I run to him and grabbed his collar tightly. The two men became more alert and pointed their guns at me. A Beretta 92FS. I smirked at him, "Improving, huh?" "Of course!" He signaled his men and they put down their guns. One of them gave Mr. Jan a tablet. After that, they force me to sit in front of Mr. Jan. He showed me a video of a woman with a blindfold and tied up in a chair. Some of her scars and bruises are visible in the video. "What do you think you're doing?!" I shouted. "I told you, I have connections, kid. I don't accept no as an answer. Give Amanda to me or I'll kill this woman." If I could just punch him or better yet kill him. How dare he! "What do you want from her? Why do you want her so badly?" I asked. He leaned on me and whispered in my ear. "I need her more than you do and I can't tell you why." I started to balled my fist because of anger. I suddenly stood and left them there. His men didn't bother to stop me. I guess he just going to let me go after he sees my reaction a while ago. I came home at exactly 5 a.m. and Amanda is still sleeping. I sat down beside her and began to caress her hair. Aww! My beautiful Amanda. She moves slightly and hugged me. She looks so innocent while sleeping unlike when she's awake. She looks like a tiger ready to eat her prey anytime. I kissed her forehead and cover her shivering body with a blanket. She opened her eyes and looked at me. "What's the matter? Is there something wrong?" I can see how worried she was. She cupped my face. I heavily sighed and shook my head. I hold her hand and kissed it. "Nothing. I'm just admiring how beautiful you are," I chuckled, "I can't help it but to stare at you." She smiled at me and start to snuggle in my neck. If ever I need to choose, I hope you'd understand why. *** The next day, Amanda and Joel robbed a bank after bank. Stores after stores. They didn't care whether a police car with a loud siren is after them. They both laughed and cherish the moment especially, Joel. Joel hold Amanda's hand while Amanda is driving. He just stared at her for a very long time. I wish for us to stay like this. . . . Amanda parked the car in front of Shabby Stacks, they went straight to the bar counter of the restaurant. The ambiance of the restaurant gives a western-vibes. There we're quite few people eating there; it's because people are busy minding their business. Amanda don't really care what people are up to right now. She just only cares about the things that she can get from them and after that, she wants them dead. Amanda began to discuss things to Joel about the store that they will rob after they eat. If you see them, you'll thought that they're just normal people who are eating at the Shabby stacks but if you would looked or stare at them carefully, you'd notice something more than that. Underneath the fabric they we're wearing are the small deadly guns and weapons they'll use if someone try to get them. They we're both whispering at each other when a group of male cops entered the place. They become more alerted and starts to hold their gun, privately. "Holy crap! We need to get out of here as soon as possible," Amanda said to herself. The cops are busy talking with each other. Both of them tried to cover themselves without being so obvious. On Amanda's peripheral view, she can see a cop looking at them suspiciously but it seems that he doesn't mind them at all. She tried to covered her face using her hair. She felt that the cop is not looking at her anymore; that's when she decided to seat properly but still covering her face using her hand. Phew! I almost got caught. She noticed a waitress walking towards the other table—where the cops are. She faced Joel and signaled him to tell her what was going on between the waitress and the cops. They we're shocked when they both see what was the cop was holding. It's a poster of them being a wanted person. They started to pack their things faster but still trying to act like there's nothing going on. They don't want the cops to be so nosy around them or else they will get caught. Before they get to exit the Shabby Stacks, one of the cops shouted at them—making them to stop walking. Shoot! Did they notice? Despite of Amanda being so frustrated because of the situation, she manages to get a hold of herself and talk without stuttering. "Yes sir? Do you need anything?" she asked them. She flashed her biggest smile for them not to think suspiciously of them. The cop went to the waitress before and get the poster she was holding. "Did you see them?" He's pointing to the poster with their pictures. Her knees were bit trembling but she won't let them see that she's affected by that. "I'm afraid that I didn't see them, officer. But I'll tell you right away once I've came across to those people," she said while pointing to the posters. She sighed in relief once the cop nodded at them. So easy! Never thought they're easy to fool. They were about to exit that place when the cop called them again. Really? What now? Argh! The cop jogged until his distance to Amanda is just a foot away from him. He handed her the poster that was immediately taken by Joel. She smiled at him for the last time then she turned her back at him. She dropped her wallet and the cop gave it to her. Suddenly, the half part of her card was shown. Oh no! I'm dead. As soon as the cop looked at her card, Amanda and Joel began to ran and went to their car. Amanda starts to drive like she's in a car race while Joel on the passenger seat began to load every gun they had in the car. Amanda looked at the side mirror—only to see the police are driving after them. "Shoot them!" she shouted at Joel. Joel starts to shoot them using rifle. Amanda went through some alley, trying to deceive the cop. When she thinks they're gone, they parked the car near the dump yard. So that, the cop will think they're still there. After all, they are all stupid. They get enough gun to use to whoever who'll block their way. In the middle of the situation, Joel's phone suddenly rang. Amanda looked at him with a bit irritation in her eyes. "Answer it," Amanda commanded. Amanda is just a bit far away from him. "How are you, my friend?" asked by the man on the other line. Joel grips tightly on the phone as soon as he heard the voice of the man in the other line—Mr. Jan. "I told you . . . I can help you with that thing that's going on with you right now. And oh! Are you just let your younger sister die in my hands?" "How did you know what was going on?! Don't hurt her!" he shouted on the phone. Amanda is just staring at Joel—who's fuming mad right now. "Save yourself, Joel! Don't mind me—Ahh!" The man on the other phone laughed, "Connections, dude. Also, I hired a person to spy you and Amanda." "I said don't hurt her! If you hurt her, I'll make sure to kill you." "I won't hurt her . . . unless you give Amanda to me. Or better yet, kill her for me then I'll save your sister. Think carefully." Before Joel could talk, the man on the other line hung up the call. Joel looked at Amanda. He walked back and forth, thinking what the next thing he would do. "What are you doing?! Let's go!" Amanda shouted at Joel. Joel looks at her for a few minutes then he pointed his gun to her. Amanda is shocked on what he did. I'm sorry Amanda but I hope you'd understand what I'm going to do. "Shoot me," she said. Even though, Joel wants to shoot her; he still can't do it because he loves Amanda. But he needs to save his younger sister. He's so confused on what he will do. "I said shoot me!" Amanda points Joel's gun straight to her head, "If you won't shoot me, I'll shoot you instead." Amanda take her gun out and points it toward Joel's head. "What are you doing?! Why are you not running away from me?!" "Do you think I didn't know? I followed you that midnight. I heard all of your conversation with Mr. Jan. I'm not that stupid, Joel." Joel was shock because of what Amanda told him. She knew all along? "In the count of three . . . if you don't shoot me. I'll fire my gun at you." Why did she do that? "One . . ." Can I really shoot her? But I love her. "Two. . . ." Amanda smirked at him. I'm facing the cold-blooded Amanda. "Three. Shoot me. Now," she said straight into Joel's eyes. "I-I can't." "Then goodbye, Joel." She fired her gun straight to my head. "Wakanda Forever!" I woke up when I heard that word. Why is there a light? Am I now in heaven? I sat down and wander my eyes inside the room I am in. The bottles and chips were scattered on the floor. The television is on and flashing the full movie of Black Panther II, I guess? I was startled when someone shouted my name from the outside and suddenly barged in my room. "Joel!" she shouted. She sat down to my bed next to me. "What are you doing here?" I asked her. She clings into my arms and smiled at me. "Taylor Swift's new album is now released. Please! Buy me the Reputation Album." "What?! I don't want to." "I'll tell mother that you drink beer all night. See? The evidence is on the floor. I'm sure that she'll take away all of your video games," she said threatening me. "Alright! Alright! I'll buy you one." "Thanks brother! I'll go to school now. Bye." Then she waved her hand at me. I ruffle my hair and starts to clean up my room. I notice that I left my computer on. I looked at the screen only to see that the game I was playing yesterday night is still here. I remembered that I just borrowed it from my friend. What's the name of the game again? Why is the girl in the game looks like someone? I started to find the DVD case. It should be here. Oh! I found it. It's called . . . Mission X: Amanda. I looked at the screen of the computer. The woman is staring at me coldly. "Amanda . . ."
