The Last Wish

The rain was falling as I walked along the dark streets. I'm soaking wet because of the raindrops. I can't see anything but darkness. I am feeling solitude at the moment. I didn't bother to ride a jeep because of the emptiness that I felt. I want to reminisce about everything. The moon and the stars give a luminous light. At least it guides my way. I felt the coldness of the rain in my body but I don't bother to think about it anymore. I wanna find peace and serenity. After a long walk, I finally reached my destination-my haven. I opened the door and turned on the light. I smiled as I look myself in the mirror. But I know deep inside I was shattered into pieces. And I don't know if someone could fix the tiny pieces of it. "Are you okay?" I asked myself in the mirror trying to be nonchalant but teardrops flowed from my chocolate brown eyes. "Cheer up, sweetie. Everything will be alright." I tried to console myself. I changed my clothes right after taking a bath. I sat near the window. Watching the children playing outside. I looked up at the sky. I felt relieved when I saw the moon and the stars. I slowly sipped my hot chocolates and ate the bread that I prepared. I sighed deeply. Why do people change? I asked myself. I don't have exact answers but one thing is for sure they find comfort from other people. The rain continues to fall from the sky. Maybe the goddess of the rain is lonely that is why she cries so much. I laughed at that thought. Thinking that I am like a crazy talking with myself. If someone could see me, they will immediately think that I am insane. Ain't I? I almost lost my sanity. The deafening silence might take my sanity. I laid on my bed and turn off the lights but my eyes are wide open. I can't fall asleep. Something bothers me but I should not think of it. I am just an insignificant human being in this world. "1..... 2... 3..... 4... I began to count until I fell asleep. The noise of my alarm clock woke me up. It is time to get up but I am tired. I feel like not doing anything. I closed my eyes again but my phone rang. I felt a little bit annoyed. " Hello," I said in a sleepy mood "Hey, good morning." I chuckle. " Wazzup? What's that morning greetings huh? It's kinda weird for you.hahaha." I said and laughed. "You are so mean? Is it disgusting?" he asked. I know he is smiling right now. I can't help to smile genuinely. "It is weird. That is the first time you greet me like that. hahaha." I said. I know he is rAising his eyebrows right now. Knowing this weird guy. " Anyway, I'm on my way. I will pick you up," he said. "Arrggggh, I want to leave from my work right now. I want to sleep more." I said "hahaha silly. Get up now. I'll be there within 10 minutes." he said and hung up the phone. I don't have a choice. He was on his way here. I need to prepare myself. I take a bath and dressed up. I went outside and there he is. A man sitting on his motorbike is just like a model. He has luscious lips and chocolate brown eyes. His messy curly hair just suits him. He looks so handsome but he is not my type. "Done checking on me, my lady? Stop drooling. It is all yours. hahaha." he said teAsingly. I rolled my eyes. "Duh, you are not my type, dear. hahaha. You know that." I said nonchalantly trying to hide the bitterness in my voice. I can't read what's on his mind. He just shrugged. I wonder why he is still single. I mean he is a nice guy. I've known him for many years but I didn't know he dated a woman. One time, he told me that someone owns him already but he didn't say who. Well, I don't bother to ask. I respect his silence about his so-called love life "Fiona, are you okay?" he asked along our way. "Yeah. Why?" I retorted "You look dejected." "I'm fine. I just sleep late last night." I replied. " I did not eat my breakfast. Would you mind passing by in Jollibee Drive-Thru?" I said to him "You should eat a lot. You are so skinny. Diet is not good." he said "I am not on a diet. It is only that... never mind." I replied "What did you say?" "Nothing. Let's go." Ashton drove his car to the destination. I am thankful that he is always here in me. I felt relieved knowing that there is someone who is always on my side no matter what happens.
