4 - The Fridge

867 Words
Ethan I ran after her.  The moment my eyes caught her fleeing figure, my feet started to move on their own much to the surprise of my cousin April.  I knew it was her. I didn't see her pretty face or her captivating eyes but the lovely curve of her neck and shoulders, the soft slope down her waist and hips and the small of her back where my hand fit so perfectly told me it was her. I knew because she and all that she is has never left my mind since last night.  I ran as fast as I could, my legs and feet breezing over the floor, my body instinctively averting any obstacle and my heart pounding in my chest.  I got to her just as she was getting in her car. As soon as she opened the door and went inside, I immediately shoved after her making her go directly to the passenger side.  "What the f**k?! Ethan!" She yelled furiously but I ignored her. I leaned over to secure her seat belt before buckling myself up despite her angry screams and weak but raging hits on my arm.  She was soft and lovely even in her anger. "Get the hell out of my car!" She screamed but my hand was already on the ignition, I turned it on and drove off which made her more mad and alarmed.  She tried to open the window and the door but lucky for me, all those can be locked from my side.  "Calm down, Daisy. I just want to talk." I said as calmly as possible despite the fact that my insides were churning. My heart almost pumped out of my chest, my inner voice yelled endless curses and reprimands in my head and my hands shook uncontrollably.  Damn it, Ethan! What are you doing?!  "Talk?! This is kidnapping! You are f*****g crazy!" She yelled and sobbed.  "Daisy, please..." "Stop calling my name! How do you even know my name?" She continued to sob.  She was terrified of me. Who wouldn't? I was acting like a f*****g lunatic.  I fished the letter I found in my car that had her name out of my jacket pocket and I gave it to her. She grabbed it.  "You're crazy! Where are you taking me? What do you want from me?" She sniffled. She wasn't yelling anymore, probably exhausted but she still looked at me with eyes like daggers filled with fear and indignation.  "I don't know, okay? I don't even know why I did this so I don't know where we should go. I just really want to talk to you, Daisy." I sincerely told her as I gazed at her and she nodded slowly.  "Okay. What do you want to talk about? I already told you. There's nothing to talk about what we did last night. It's just s*x. Nothing more will come out of it. Just because you're a famous celebrity, handsome and rich, I would want more from you." She stated defiantly.  I pulled over and faced her.  "Honestly, I have no idea what I want to talk to you about or what I want to hear from you. It's just that... I can't get you out of my mind, Daisy. Something about you, about everything that happened, about everything you made me feel told me that you were meant to be with me and I was meant to be with you."  I reached out to take her hand and she didn't resist. She looked directly into my eyes and smiled.  "I understand what you mean because I feel the same way. I couldn't focus on my work. I couldn't think about anything else but you," she said.  Right then, it started raining torrentially like the heavens opened up to shower us with blessings.  I leaned over to kiss her and she met my hungry lips fervidly. Our mouths yearningly drank from each other and tried to quench our thirst. I wasn't sure how but she was suddenly out of her seat and on my lap straddling me as my hands roamed her naked back.  Wait! She's naked? I opened my eyes and saw that we were BOTH naked and on my couch instead of her car.  What the hell is going on?  "I'd like a day without punishing you." She said and I looked at her face confusedly.  "What?" "I'm an illusion, Ethan. A fantasy your mind made up of a woman you have always dreamed of but will never have." Before I could ask her, a bright light appeared from behind her and slowly engulfed her until she was gone.  I tried to move, to stop her, to struggle but somehow I could not move my whole body and my body felt weak.  Suddenly, she was gone and all that was left was the cold.  Cold? It was cold.  I stood in front of the open fridge of my cousin's shop holding a pack of berries in my hand. I never left that spot, only my mind drifted off to run after her.  "We will meet again, sweet Daisy. And when that happens, I won't let you run away from me again."
