CAMPUS LIFE AS A MUSLIMAHUpdated at Oct 13, 2025, 07:38
I never knew how heavy life could be until I stepped into campus alone. Mama’s words still echo in my heart — “Haleemah, never sell your body for money, and never forget that Allah never gives a soul more than it can bear.” Those words were my only comfort when everything around me began to fall apart.
At first, I was surrounded by good Muslim friends — Khadijah, Aisha, and Sufiyyah — who reminded me what it meant to be a true Muslimah. I still remember the sheikh’s lecture about modesty, the hijab, and the worth of a woman before Allah. It touched my soul deeply. But soon after, my world changed. Mama fell ill, and I held her hand as she returned to her Creator. Life became a test I wasn’t prepared for.
Back on campus, I tried to stay strong, but hunger, debt, and loneliness whispered temptations into my heart. When I thought help had come a senior student with kind eyes and sweet words I didn’t know I was meeting the man who would drag me into darkness.
This is my story — of faith, loss, temptation, and the long road back to Allah.
