The great Sultan Durani managed to reopen every single wound I had, and he was currently applying salt to the wounds. As a wound reopens if it is messed with, so did my anguish. He blinked as the sun's rays struck him; it was funny to watch how they bounced off my necklace. Nevertheless, I turned around before he could see me. The sun refuses to shine in this heartache, and the birdsong seems incapable of filling the air with the same melody. However, the truth is that I would rather give up comfort than remain with a non-loving partner. Rather of giving up, I will use this pain as a teaching tool and motivation to continue looking for someone who can recognise the fun beckoning of their own soul.I moved down the stairs, sighing deeply, but as soon as I reached a distant location, a familiar scent enveloped me, bringing back memories. I stopped, feeling as though time had stopped, and Sultan Durani appeared in front of me. He appeared frail, and I felt distressed by this. His eyes, which had always been filled with hate, were strangely warm this evening. He never gave me a loving glance; instead, he treated me like some kind of debris. I prayed to Allah every day that I had never fallen in love with Sultan. I tried to get past him, clearing my throat, but he grabbed my hand. I was upset and turned to slap him, but to my disbelief he was on his knees. Every aspect of me stops as my mind stumbles for a moment and my eyes take in the startling graphic I never would have predicted. "Mujhe maaf kardo Aruh."
