Adelaide is a young new psychiatrist trying to make a name for herself in the medical world. After a particularly rough day at work she heads home as usual. The one thing unusual as she heads home is the large SUV broken down on the side of the road. She is compelled to help but not prepared for the characters she has stopped to help. Among the characters is a particularly brooding man that Adelaide finds particularly intriguing. In meeting this man she is unprepared and thrown into a world she didn't know existed, full of supernatural beings who want her dead. This new world and the brooding man will push her beyond what she thought she could endure and mold her into someone she never could have dreamed.
