I am a med student totally in love with literature. I could read and read forever. I love writing. I won the first prize in the contest that my country held for literature during my senior year.
I love the sea. I could look at it forever.
I find beauty in everything. I do my best to find it. I am a feminist and I will always be.
I believe that all human beings should be treated fairly. None of us is more or less important than the other. We are all here to complete the puzzle. We must be ourselves and do our best to fulfill our missions.
I have chosen mine. I am happy about it.
I love swans: their elegance, their monogamy, their uncomplicated life.
My favorite color is Tyrian purple. It does not agitate me, nor cool me down. It just let me be. I love to have things in that color. I also love wearing a burgundy color.
I love myself most of the time. I try hard, and if it is not enough, I try harder.
I have a lot of favorite quotes. This is one of them by James Joyce “Time is, time was, but time shall be no more.”
Another one by George Herbert "Love and cough cannot be hidden."
My motivation: live with love, do my best, smile brightly.
This first book is a lot about me and everything I wanted to experience during my senior year.
I turned 17 this September on 23rd. I could change yesterday, before a year, after a year, but not today. I just started my senior year. I want to be a doctor so badly. I was at the top of the class since the first year of high school. It was my dream, a forever dream. I said "No" to many things. I sealed my heart, closed my body, totally focused on my preoccupation. I wanted to be people's hope. I want to see shiny eyes that see me with a different light. I could help them. I could do it. I was happy to be a perfect girl in the name of feminism and myself.
This morning I feel different. I do not think that I am ready. My body aches in a way that I love it. I look in the mirror, not even one thing is excessive...but, my eyes... I look at them, they have a different sparkle. It is like they are looking at me. I am afraid, but I feel happy. I am experiencing a colorful kind of joy.
I put that little lotus in my hair, that you gave me, took a bunch of fresh flowers that my mother would prepare for me every day, and left for school. Muriel and Orna must know about my strange dream and today's morning change.
Nice to meet you, my name is Yara.
