Jace Salazar only had a simple weekend in mind: brunch with his friends, help his stepdad with the computer, bathe his dog Skittles, and enjoy his night reading books--That's everything he's planning to do on Sunday, but what about Saturday? The day before all that happens? On Saturday, he's going to (maybe he won't do it) meet up with an unusual guy he met from a dating app. They're going to have a simple date: meet up at a cafe, talk for a while, catch a movie, and end the day with dinner in a nice restaurant. He's not expecting to be left waiting at a bus stop in the middle of nowhere for hours with a weak signal, find the nearest place is a ghost town, and pass out all of a sudden on a rusty old bench. When he wakes up, the said ghost town is now a bustling place, the rusty old bench isn't rusty anymore, and the guy he's been waiting for finally shows up--who turns out to be royalty!? Soon Jace finds himself delving more into this world's ways, agreeing with them, disagree with them, fixing them, destroying them, and falling for the man who's the reason why he came here. It raises the question: Can I go back home after all of this? And if I do, can I leave this all behind? Can I leave behind everything I've done in this world?
