Jessica has spent her whole life looking after her mum and making sure her wants and feelings were put before her own. She didn’t mean to be an uncaring mother but had a promising career as a model until the unwanted baby bump that was Jess began to show. The father, a colleague, didn’t want anything to do with either of them. Jess was put into cutest baby shows and did some pageants, but as a naturally shy and bookish teen she never did excel despite trying to please her mum. But now Jess had reached 19 she was ready to go out into the world and to start working, studying and really making something of herself. She just needs to make an impression with the boss offering the apprenticeship. Mark joined the army young to get out of the house and away from his parents. His mother was an alcoholic and his father obsessed by the business that his own father handed to him. He had grown it and was ready to pass it to Mark, but Mark was more than happy for his younger brother Paul to lead the way. Paul worked hard and partied hard, but had been by his fathers side these last ten years trying to prove he was more than his mistakes and the youngest son. Perhaps his new idea of an apprenticeship would turn his fathers opinion around. Maybe he’d finally see he wasn’t all show and selfishness.
