She is from a precarious middle - class family who lives with her friend Christina. She later finds a job at Arup ashted company. Her friend Christina who was a rich girl and loves to spend decided to take her to celebrate and ends up getting her drunk.  She had a one night stand with a man, but only remembers his tattoo which she saw the next day morning while sneaking out of the room. Chris the guy she saw his tattoo on was the CEO of Arup ashted company, and he has a best friend who is a lot younger than Chris but is also the CEO of Ralph Lauren cologne, where her bed friend (Christina) later gets a job. Marisa becomes pregnant and searches for the man only to find out it was her boss. Chris was resentful and harsh towards her and he only accepted her into his home because of the relationship between their mum's respectively.  Marisa finally let's go and drifts herself away from him and falls for Edward, while Chris started to have feelings for Marisa.
