The story follows Saddie, a young woman who is working as a waitress to earn money for her brother's medical treatment. Unfortunately, her job doesn't last long as Andrien, a bratty and entitled customer, insults her and gets her fired. Saddie turns to her friend Carrie for shelter, and is eventually offered a job as Andrien's secretary. She reluctantly accepts, knowing that her brother's health is on the line.As Saddie works for Andrien, she realizes that he is manipulative and controlling, and she feels trapped in her situation. However, one day she overhears him talking about an unethical business deal, and decides to take action. She investigates the company involved and confronts Andrien, hoping to persuade him to do the right thing."I'm not a janitor, Andrien," Saddie protested. "I agreed to be your secretary, not your maid."Andrien sneered at her. "You're lucky to have a job at all, given your lack of experience and education. If you don't like it, you can leave."
