John had an aim to send Paula to school but Inorder to have control over her and what ever she has in the nearest future with the contract marriage among them. A plot is made up of these five elements: Exposition:James Paula was from a poor background and she has the choice of choosing to go to school on a condition to have a contract marriage with John Redson or not to school at all . The only option and solution at that moment is Paula accepting the contract marriage with no choice than to school and be educated. Inciting Incidents:After Paul’s and John started dating ,John made Paula get into some rules and regulations because he want to sponsor her in schooling leaving her with no choice but to accept. Rising Action:Paula’s life with John was hell and hard . He was though and not supportive , he only needed Paula for show off and sexual urge. Paula was able to mingle with new friends to forget and make reasonable decision where she met and fell in love with her friend “Augustine “.One night of passion with Augustine she was caught by John in the incident. Climax: Paula was caught by John so she was left with no choice than to break the contract marriage between them, this caused her to choose Augustine love over john’s maltreatment . John threatened her not to break the contract married that he might kill her and Augustine but because of the love Paula had for Augustine she was left with no option than to tell Augustine everything in order not to risk his life . Knowing how dangerous John could be Paula and Augustine decided to go far away from where John could ever think of . Denouement : After Paula told Augustine, he was happy that the one he decided to spend his life with is truthful and doesn’t keep secrets from him .They both decided to run far away but in the act John caught them trying to escape as Paula went to get all her stuffs from john’s apartment. He wanted to kill them but they escaped and made a report to the police for attempted murder case.Paula was able to claim john’s properties since they were married through contract marriage that way she was able to change her family poor background and provide for their needs . She finally got married officially to the own she loved which is Augustine.
