Billionaire's Charade: Where Love Meets DeceptionUpdated at Feb 21, 2024, 01:40
In the dimly lit room, Ariana's eyes widened as my daughter dropped the bombshell. "When am I getting a new mom?" The words hung in the air, causing Ariana to choke on her drink. I, on the other hand, remained surprisingly composed, almost as if I had been expecting this moment.
Ariana recovered, her voice booming, "That's no way to tal-" I cut her off with a dismissive wave, focusing my attention on Nadia, my determined daughter.
"Why?" I asked, my authoritative aura and a sly smile on full display.
Nadia met my gaze with unwavering determination. "I need a motherly figure."
"And?" I prodded.
"Girls just want their mom sometimes."
"And?" I pressed on.
"Need someone to talk boys stuff with," she confessed.
"You can always discuss it with me," I blurted out without realizing the repercussions, earning me an awkward cough from Ariana and a deadly stare from Nadia.
"Well, we can always compromise on that," I attempted to salvage the situation. Why did it always go south when it came to boys' stuff?
Nadia, however, wasn't backing down. She slammed her hand on the table, almost knocking dishes over, and declared, "Just admit it! What makes you think you can handle me in my rebellious teenage years?"
Before I could respond, Ariana muttered under her breath, "As if you aren't rebellious enough now?"
I smirked; Ariana was the perfect match for Isabella. The perfect plan formed in my mind.
"So let's say I agree, who do you want for a mother?" I tossed the ball into her court. "Tina? or...?"
Nadia eyed me skeptically. In a moment of telepathic understanding, she pointed at an unsuspecting woman engrossed in grilled chicken. "I want her."
"Fine by me," I agreed, knowing Nadia valued promises. "I have to keep my part of the deal then."
I excused myself, leaving behind a horrified Ariana, and added more fuel to the fire. "Let's get married."
The room fell into a stunned silence, leaving everyone wondering about the impending twists and turns.
