The story is based on a violence-filled setting that happens as a result of a disputed election. The story title 'SURVIVAL HASTE' shows a mother’s struggles in trying to keep her twin sons alive amidst the violence that arises after the announcement of the results of a disputed general election. This story aims to bring out the suffering that the common person goes through as a result of selfish decisions by greedy and careless leaders i.e. in this case a leader can’t accept results and mobilizes people to violence instead of peaceful demonstrations. It t also shows the mother's love and the sacrifices she makes to keep her children safe and alive.
