A descendant of the long line of Meja, Anna Rouland has the ability to see and speak to a Grim Reaper and stop him from taking the soul of the newly-departed. But her ancestors’ tragic history held her back from using her ‘gift’ until one incident prompted her to reveal herself to a reaper. This kicked-started a chain of events that threatened to end, not only her life, but the Meja bloodline – she, being the last ‘soul keeper’. Damien has been a Grim Reaper for over five hundred years and has never met a Meja. He has a one-track goal. That is, to carry-out the tasks assigned by Hades – god of the underworld – in exchange for his sister’s soul. After a chance encounter with Anna, however, Damien’s resolve wavered leaving him confused and uncertain. He started having strong emotions and desires - feelings that were alien to him. To make matters worse, Hades became infuriated with what he saw as Anna’s interference with the natural order of things and commanded Damien to kill her.
