He clicked the lighter with no response, second click and again no response but just as he was about too chuck the lighter for good he heard soft humming to no specific rhythm and far out of tune approach his small space of peace.Irritation flared in his veins not only at the inadequate lighter ,the undeniable knowledge that his space would soon be invaded by an uninvited guest and the socially acceptable practice of having to engage in small talk in which he found no interest but mostly at himself for being intrigued by such humane distractions.Once again, the lighter lifted to the tip of cigarette and clicked. Still placed firmly between his lips the cigarette danced as he threw the lighter with pure irritation and lost the sight of it in the sun.She watched the lighter travel weightless through the air seeming to vanish asif it never existed and thoughtlessly turned to focus on the clearly irritated lighter yeeter. She damn never swallowed the entire cigarette and an embarrassing cough sounding gasp escaped her as she stared at this stranger for much longer than considered non-creepy.Before her stood what she could only describe as an Greek God and while she continued to stare she swore his lips were moving. Had he been speaking to her? Straightening her back, closing her mouth and reminding herself how to blink she took a few steps closer."Hi. Sorry I hadn't heard you previously what did you say?"- She spoke in barely a whisper feeling her throat void of any moisture."Do any of your species ever listen!" - he signed and turned his back to her." I asked, May I kindly use your lighter as mine just went skydiving?"- He repeated in a tone laced with irritation and fake politeness. She held out the lighter to him, leaning her back to the wall and centering her focus on anything else to normalize her frantic heart rate.He had not turned to face her and was staring at the sky asif it had all the answers to the challenges of life."My lighter?"-She nearly yelled as she held out her hand in his direction. He flinched as his ears whistled and his head began to spin pressed the lighter into her palm almost willing it to pass through her tiny delicate hand. She retracted her arm and felt the indent of her lighter prickle her palm. They both rushed to finish their smoke break and escape the uncomfortable company they found themselves in.She turned to leave first not deeming him fit for an greeting or even an acknowledgement of his existence. He watched her leave, finding himself amused by her sudden disregard for his presence and smiled as he gathered his belongings heading for his next class.

My definition of Life is an constant flow of chaotic, uncontrollable events colliding in breathtaking moments.....
Updated at Jun 28, 2024, 19:11
Chaos has the ability to steadily seap through even the most tightly woven fibers and consume every inch without an noticeable sense of discomfort. The lack of control encourages unexplainable occurrences to manifest unashamed and illustrate the domineering mannerisms when unbalanced by self discipline.Constant irregular waves regardless of the guidance provided by rhythm collide with enough determination to create an brief moment of tranquility and almost to soon Life erupts back too its prior state.
