THE INVISIBLE
Updated at Oct 1, 2026, 01:06
Nakuru City, 5:47 AM. The mist clings to Menengai Crater like a ghost. The city below is still asleep, lights flickering through the fog. On the cliff edge, two souls sit close. Clain, twenty-three, broke, with a strange black necklace burning under his shirt. Maya, twenty-one, tall, beautiful, fierce, her notebook full of impossible dreams. A small house. A shop. A future far from the dust.He keeps touching the necklace. It pulses. Maya notices but smiles. "You are nervous when you are happy," she says. She takes his hand. For a second, the world is perfect. Then the wind stops. Birds go silent. The sky tears.About 100 meters away, across the gorge, a craft decloaks. No sound. No helicopter blades. Just a black, angular machine with blue veins of light, hovering, then landing. It is not Kenyan Air Force. It is not human.Clain feels his necklace turn ice cold.Doors hiss. Six figures emerge. Tactical armor, matte black, helmets with red scanning lasers. Their movements are too perfect, like robots. They sweep the ground with devices."What is that, Clain?" Maya whispers, her hand shaking."I don't know. We need to RUN!"They run. Maya drops her notebook. The pages fly.It is too late. A net of light hits Clain. He falls. Two soldiers grab Maya. She screams, "CLAIN! HELP ME! CLAIN!"He is dragged into a dark lava cave nearby, the one locals say is cursed. One soldier puts a scanner to his chest. The scanner beeps red."Nothing! The seed is not inside this one! Zero reading!" the soldier shouts. The leader steps forward. His voice is filtered, cold. "Then we leave. Before orbital notices. The girl has trace. Take her.""What about the witness?" a soldier asks, raising a rifle. The leader says, "No witnesses. Clean."A gunshot. Fire in Clain's chest. Darkness. The craft ignites and shoots straight up, vanishing in less than three seconds, leaving a circle of burnt glass where grass was.But Clain does not die.In the cave, blood pooling, the black necklace shatters and melts into his skin. Millions of nanites, older than Earth itself, flood his veins. His heart stops, then restarts with a thrum. The bullet pushes itself out. His eyes snap open - silver, glowing.Three days later, he wakes in Nakuru PGH. No wound. No explanation. Doctors call it a miracle. Police say Maya ran away with another man. There is no record of any craft. No CCTV. No proof.Only he knows she was taken. What was that craft? Why did the soldiers say "seed"? What is inside his body now? Why does he sometimes become transparent when angry, why do cameras glitch when he passes, why can he hear the necklace speaking: "System Activated. Host: Clain. Protocol: Invisibility"?He will find out. From the back alleys of Nakuru where a hacker girl named Shiko tracks UFOs, to the secret military labs under Nairobi where children with silver eyes are kept, to the orbit where a massive, invisible station watches Earth like a farm. They made a mistake. They left him alive. He was a nobody. A boyfriend who could not protect his girl. Now he is THE INVISIBLE - the glitch in their system, the weapon that was never meant to wake up.He will find Maya. He will burn their sky to do it.Even if he must become invisible forever. Even if he must stop being human to save the only human he ever loved.Action. Sci-Fi. Superpower. System. Romance. Revenge. Conspiracy. Set in Kenya. This is not a story about an alien invasion. This is a story about what happens when love refuses to die, even after a bullet to the heart.*END
