I loosely based this story on the legend/myth of The Seven Tablets Of Creation, which are ancient Sumerian texts. The story starts on Ma'adim (Mars), which was inhabited by highly advanced civilizations. A war ensued which damaged the planet and there is a race to save it. They charged a group of people with taking a space station, the Nibiru (the Moon) to the planet Tellus (ancient earth) to mine gold with which they plan to replenish the atmosphere of Ma'adim (Mars). The planet Tellus proves to have a significantly stronger gravitational pull, causing the Anunnaki to suffer injuries from trying to carry the heavy buckets of gold as they mine. They come up with the idea to splice their genes with the primate apes native to Tellus. This will make a slave race they can force to do the work for them. During this time, they encounter another race of aliens who had settled on Tellus long before them. The interactions between the two groups quickly deteriorate until they are at war. This eventually makes mining the gold impossible. The planet Ma'adim dies a slow, painful death, causing some inhabitants to retreat underground while others decide to take their chances and evacuate to Tellus even though they are at war with the Prince of the other colony. I planned the ending of this book to set up a sequel that will follow the Anunnaki and their hardships of life while they are at war with the Prince.
