Updated at Jan 5, 2022, 01:20
UPENDRANATH ROY, also known as OPU, along with his brother, DEVENDRANATH ROY, also called DEVU were on their way with bodyguards towards their farm land. Both belonged to a rich family of farm land owners, called ZAMINDARS (Land Owner) by the Localities. En way, while passing the religious cremation ground, they heard cries of a girl. Concerned, they ventured inside. PARUL, a girl of mere 10, dressed entirely in bridal attire, was prepared to be sacrificed in the name of SATI DAH, which was a ritual, being forced followed by some powerful and mean people of the society, in the name of religion, whereas it solely was used for the purpose of the individual interest. In this ritual, widowed girls and women were forced burnt alive in the pyre of their dead husband, in the name of protection of the family dignity. Whereas, it was solely done to confiscate the property of the dead man by relatives, by killing his legal wife. And these powerful people who encouraged, forced and made it happen, got shares. And PARUL was it's latest victim. She was screaming in fear, but her screams were tried to be hidden by loud drum beatings and chantings by the people around. The pyre was set, and the fire was lit, and while death was en way to engulf it's victim, huge splash of water stopped everything. The people turned around, surprised and fuming, and found none other than the ROY HOUSEHOLD sons standing, accompanied by guards, who put of the fire in the pyre. OPU argued with the people for the release of the girl and when he had no other way, he picked her and went to the nearby River Mother Ganga and after bathing and purifying himself and girl in it's water, married her in the temple on it's bank. But only to save her. For 20 years old OPU, this marriage meant nothing except a necessary move to save PARUL. But amidst all the hue and cry, nobody noticed, a 12 years old DEVU following his brother's footsteps. He too after bathing in the river water, did everything his brother did and unknowingly and innocently got married to PARUL. And when everyone realised it was too late, and both the brother had got married to PARUL. Everyone were aghast. Such circumstances nor was ever heard of, neither ever happened before. But after a small discussion, they agreed that it had happened in presence of Goddess Kali & Lord Shiva themselves, and they were no one to refute it. And rest decision, they left on family. So like that PARUL got married to both brothers. They took her to ROY MANSION and their uncle, NARENDRA NATH ROY, who was the sole guardian of the two boys, after their parent's demise, was furious. But, by OPU'S efforts, NARENDRA NATH ROY finally accepted OPU'S marriage with PARUL, and instructed PARUL that from that day, OPU was like PARUL'S lord, her owner of life. She must put him before everything, even her life and his needs must be her utmost priority. And in return, OPU would be her protective shield against the harsh world. He would love her and care for her, his entire life. His words engraved in both PARUL'S & DEVU'S, whose innocent heart considered PARUL his wife since the elders in temple said so, like scratch on rock, that could never be erased. Time passed and the trio grew up.. DEVU, OPU & PARUL'S relationship had many patterns. For OPU, PARUL was just another ROY HOUSEHOLD member. Nothing more, nothing less. The marriage meant nothing in his consideration, and it was just a strategy for PARUL'S rescue. OPU was already betrothed to another girl, since he was 17 and she was the only one who occupied his heart. But for PARUL, who was unaware of OPU'S previous betrothed, OPU was her husband. Her Lord, her life, her everything. She, wholeheartedly, dedicated herself to him. She was merely 10, when her marriage had taken place to both brothers, and she only remembered uncle in law, NAREN'S words, that she belonged to OPU. DEVU, for PARUL, was her THAKURPO( Younger Brother in law). Someone, her SWAMY(Lord/husband) cared deeply for and so, she cared for him as well. She forgot her marriage to DEVU, and considered him her brother in law and her best friend. Yes, over years a deep friendship developed amidst the two. Last but not the least, for DEVU, PARUL was his wife. With age, he understood the relationship entanglement amidst three, him, his elder brother OPU, and PARUL. And he studied a lot about it. Different scriptures, religious laws, ect about it. And found out, that in case of a marriage entanglement like theirs, if elder brother claimed the wife, younger ones had to let go off his claim. But in case, elder brother rejected the wife or in some case demised, younger brother could claim the wife. Let's find out where this relationship entanglement takes the trio to. . . . .. EVERYTHING IS IMAGINARY AND JUST STORY. PLEASE READ IT JUST A LIKE A STORY.
