Virginia is not the most attractive or popular student at school. In fact, some would call her nerdy. She wears that title proudly, when she's not taking care of her mother who is slowly descending into a hereditary madness that she herself will most likely contract one day. She tries to maintain a positive attitude but she can feel a slow depression welling inside her. It takes a special copy of Jane Eyre and the help of her best friend Doug to realize that letting go could be the first and best thing she has ever done for herself.
