This is a true story, based on my life. If you’re triggered easily this is not the book for you. The “story” follows me on my journey through foster care, and being adopted twice. You’ll read about my childhood, my teenage years, and receive some insight on the life I live now as a young adult. There is substance abuse, physical abuse, and sexual abuse in this “story.” This “story” gives insight to very real physiological “disability’s” such as depression, anxiety, PTSD, and Misophonia. For those who do not know what Misophonia is, Misophonia is a disorder in which certain sounds trigger emotional or physiological responses that some might perceive as unreasonable given the circumstance. Those who have misophonia might describe it as when a sound “drives you crazy.” Their reactions can range from anger and annoyance to panic and the need to flee. The disorder is sometimes called selective sound sensitivity syndrome. In my case the sounds are mostly oral noises such as but not limited to (chewing food, chewing gum, water dripping, lip smacking, swallowing, heavy mouth breathing.)
