The selected seven men to be initiated into the underworld stood before the shrine of Itieke, a fearless witch doctor, who had territorized the city of Obodoukwu for years, transforming into many beings. Thick darkness covered everywhere. They could feel the darkness more than they could feel themselves. Having stayed without food for 14 days, which is the process of the initiation, the were famished, but there are not meant to complain, nor to sit. As they lined up to drink the initiation blood, Udene, a sixteen years old dark boy, who was forced into the process, dropped and fainted, pouring down the pot of blood on the ground. On being revived with torture, he was tied up to the Mbembe tree at Uguja evil forest. It was the third night in the evil forest filled with wild animals that Udene was taken to the under world, where he was prepared. The last day to the preparation, Iteke the witch doctor came to the Under world, on seeing that powers has been vested upon Udene, he trembled, and then returned to the normal world to kill the physical body of Udene before he could reenter it. The journey did not went as planned, and the power conquest that doomed half of Obodoukwu community began. Udene who was fighting to shield his community defeated Iteke, the witch doctor. His mortal body was killed. Days after the death of Iteke, the witch doctor, Udene returned to the underworld, on returning back, he discovered that Mgbadike, who was the witch doctor's son had taken over the territories of Obodoukwu. They fought until Udene made a mistake that led to his death alongside Mgbadike.
