This stories Provide diagonal support Guard with specifications and production of yourself in life. So, take attention into it wellEither to your friends or to enemies
But be patient to hear their cries
Do not speak aloud
Remain calm like a clear cloud
Keep away from angry looks Instead read a few good books
Never hurt people through words
Which are sharp like swords
Choose a person with a creative mind, As your true friend
Fight for freedom
With a little bit of wisdom,
Hide your bad temper
For it is like a hot pepper
It only creates a bad image
And irritates persons of all age
Only try to do a good deed
Let it grow like a fine seed
To shelter the children of this soil
Who really have to face a lot of turmoil,
May we follow the path of light
And move towards the right.
Analysis/Background
Guidelines to a Better tomorrow is moral poem on principle per excellence. The intention of the poet here is to give directions, pass instructions and set guides to aiding students' general outlooks on life and mentor them on a good course of action to their enviable future without losing focus.
Adeyinka David Kolawole enjoins students to see themselves as agents of change in every station of life and strive to maintain peace with their neighbours who are likely to be the next student to them in the class, the next tenant at home or anybody they meet in the course of life.
Since life without wisdom is activities without direction, the poet endears students to embrace wisdom as principal deed to guide them to do right always.
The poem has 40 lines with 10 stanzas.
