Leona looked up at him, feeling strangely numb, almost empty. Why did it feel that way?
He looked back at her for a moment and then leaned his forehead against hers.
''I won't call you'' he quietly stated ''I won't search for you, won't contact you in any way. We always knew it would be like this in the end.''
Leona closed her eyes and sucked in a breath. When she opened her eyes again, he was already walking away, and that was when she felt it. She loved him, and she would never see him again.
Six months was all they had, and it had taken her that long to come to terms with how she truly felt about him.
