I sensed his presence long before I saw him. And I know I should have just left but I could not, not without seeing him again. Just then, across the lake, a large golden-brown wolf emerged from the darkness of the forest and stepped into the light of the moon. We stared at each other for a long moment, and I was glad no words could be exchanged, I didn't want to fight anymore. Just then my handsome wolf stepped forward to the edge of the water. If he wanted to, he could have jumped the length of the lake and been beside me in a flash, that’s how large he was. But instead, he placed his left paw into the cool water of the lake and just looked at me, his caramel brown eyes glowing with the light of the moon. I removed my feet from the water, shifting so that I was sitting upon my knees by the water’s edge. I then placed my left hand on the water's surface. And although I knew the water was cold, I felt my hand burn as it only did for my promised one. And with our connection being the strongest it would ever be again; we both lifted our heads to the moon. I heard him howl in pain as tears streamed down my cheeks, our hearts both asking the Moon Goddess why she had been so cruel to us.

There isn't much Marilyn Leda has figured out at the age of 15. She doesn't know what college she wants to go to, what subject she wants to major in or what career would make her happiest in life. But there is one thing she knows for sure. She wants to fall madly and effortlessly in love with a boy that has a beautiful smile, expressive eyes and a carefree personality that forces her out of her comfort zone.
