"I could kill you," He whispered, brushing a loose strand of hair back behind my ear. My pulse beated erraticly like the wings of a caged bird, longing to break free. "That would only prove me right," I let the words pass my lips, and without thinking twice spun around to meet his gaze. "You would be the real monster," my words were laced with venom and bite as I glared into a pair of red irises, fully intending to stomp all over his macho ego. There was a gut wrenching pause. While he remained frozen taken aback by my retort I stood unwavering and trapped within the confinment of his arms, holding my breath. Then his face slowy spread into a grin. And I knew, in that moment, I screwed the hell up. Evelyn, found herself in quite a predicament. I mean not everyday does one wake up after being used as a speed bump in a freak car accident. Sitting up in a morgue may not have been in her to-do-list for that boring monday, but hey? Having been dead once, and waking up again, she starts to notice she can see what should be dead, as well as beings that belong in the pages of story books. Already thoroughly freaked out and at her witts end Evelyn receives an anonymous letter one day inviting her to a school where beings like her belong. Where in-human fantasy novels roam cordoors, and dead people are normal. But of course, at this point it has become very clear Evelyn has become far from just that. Normal. Having no answers she enrolls unaware of the secrets, or love that awaits clouding the school grounds of Hollow Mannor.
