The Oracle was able to find only one timeline that would allow for a rematch of The Great Battle. A timeline flowing in the opposite direction of the time stream. The Oracle named this timeline the Requiem. However in order for this timeline to exist the Oracle and her Guardian needed to time travel to the future, upon doing this, time was unfrozen ending the mini war with the time demons in the process. It's been three years since Free and Life parted ways. All the while the black dot on Free’s back has been spreading. The more it spread the stronger his chi became but also the more madness consumed him. The only thing keeping Free in any type of control is his burning resolve to find Life and kill him. It is only by a chance encounter that Free runs into the young nurse and Life's daughter. After noticing the tattoo and the pain that Free seemed to be in she offers the aid of her beloved, claiming that no ailment could not be cured by him. Free realizes that this is the best shot of potentiality finding Life and agrees to accept her offer of help. Life is the first to notice Free with his family and is at first overjoyed to see his friend and pupil. Life calls out to Free by name to assure that it really is him. By doing this it confirms Frees suspicions about Life and with a wave of his hand he makes Life's family disappear. Wasting no time Life summons pieces of his weapon from his body that come together to form a scalpel the size of a sword with two handles along the back of the blade. It’s a blade infused with Life's chi so that it also heals as it cuts. To prepare for battle Free activates portal armor which allows for any direct attack to be transported elsewhere, the result is a walking void.
