The Golden Goddess
Updated at Jan 9, 2024, 20:45
Isabella has been abused and neglected by the Mountain pack for as long as she can remember. Her "family" consists of her mother and main abuser, Jessica and her father Chadwick. While he hasn't laid a hand on Isabella, he never stops his wife from breaking bones and drawing blood. School and her part time job at the library are the only times she is ever aloud to leave house. School is hell on earth and her only friend, Karma, can't be her shield forever. Everything shifts downhill rapidly as Isabella is rejected, attacked, and left for dead only a few days shy of her eighteenth birthday by none other than her fated mate and soon to be Alpha, Waylen. With nothing but anger and hurt surrounding her, Isabella runs away leaving her only friend Karma, taking the risk with rogues, witches, and other supernatural creatures that lurk around the mountain and ridges. Unable to forgive and forget the pack, she desires nothing more than a simple lonely life, free from love and rejection where she can search for her long lost brother who went missing two years prior. Her brother, Devlin, was the only person beside Karma to treat her like an actual wolf and family member. His disappearance was always written off as he was probably attacked by a group of rogues, while he was on patrol; Isabella never believed it. Unfortunately for Isabella, the Moon Goddess has other plans for her, including a second chance mate and a very powerful wolf. The Moon Goddess will throw a request at Isabella that will put her life at danger and the lives of the ones she's around if she accepts, but if she refuses the life she searches for will never come to her. Only pain and suffering will come and not only to her, but to every creature seeking protection under the Goddess's protection. The death of an ancient dynasty, the lives of all creatures in her hands, and the wrath of an angry god await Isabella on her journey as she discovers her life is more precious and special than she could possibly imagine. While others seek power and strength through fear and ill-treatnent, Isabella will strive to prove not only to others but to her self that true power comes from protecting those who are too weak to protect themselves and forgiveness and love with in onesself. Silias is a Lycanthrope, but he is also the heir to the Gibbous Kingdom, a large royal family that owns all wolf and lycan packs on the south side of the mountain face. His family has been in power since before his grandfather, but Silias is more concerned about rooting out the corruption inside the Kingdom from outside forces and inside than truly ruling it. Silias has his eye on the Clergymen, who were founded by his grandfather in the hopes of becoming aids and even the voice of reason inside Gibbous, but as of lately, they have been greedy and more aggressive with their power. He knew they were stealing funds, running shady underground business, and working with hostile enemies behind his family's view. Every time he was about to prove it, all the evidence would disappear and his witnesses would disappear or clam up. He knew his people were suffering, but until he gave them an answer as to who, they would never turn their backs on the Clergymen. If his father stood along side him he could probably gain more traction, but that was impossible. His father had all but retired in public, but in private he was done, unable to continue carrying a smile when he was dying on the inside alongside his mother. With the death of his sister when he was only twelve years old, his parents had been checked out behind the scenes but pretending to be strong and confident in front of the pack, as good rulers should. Sadly because of this unhealthy lie, his childhood seemed perfect from the outside, while realistically his parents couldn't look or speak to him unless they had to. Silias' nannies and butlers were his parents, and life fell into a routine. To test to see if Silias could handle Gibbous, his father sends him on a diplomatic mission to their newest pack of wolves, the Mountain Moon pack, acquired during the last war. His father is concerned Alpha Koda has been abusing his power against the wolves he rules over, but the Clergymen have insisted they must gather proof before charging the wolf and his son, dethroning them. Silias was annoyed that his father didn't shut them down, but he wasn't surprised either. Will this cold calculated lycan find his mate in time, or will she elude him for the rest of his life? Can Silias hold on to his power from known and unknown enemies? These two cainies are alike in the hurt they feel and repressed anger, but also overwhelmingly different in the backgrounds they come from. Can they learn to trust one another and become a Power couple in Gibbous and fulfill Isabella's destiny with the Moon Goddess, by helping the ones suffering under abuse, or will their hurt and trauma prove too deep and separate them forever?
