The story is about a decade long civil war and it’s never healing trauma. It somehow tries to portray the picture of the barbarism of that insurgency period which has drowned many in the deep abyss of despair. The story has been written in two parts i.e. in one story ‘Story 1’ – the protagonist is telling about his life with his Father, his wife Natalie, his daughter Emma, his friends Mac and Sumi, Mr. James (father’s friend), Aunt Helen and Uncle Sam & remaining others. In the second part i.e. in another story ‘Story 2’ – the protagonist of the story is Natalie alias Scarlet who is a wife, and also a mother. In the later stage, she develops an imaginary character named ‘Julia’ who stands as an ally to walk through the tunnel of darkness. She falls in love with a guy named Mr. Christopher who was once a clientele of her. Later, in between the war and deaths, when everyone became the part of the war or war became the part of them, the protagonist of first part turns into Mr. Commander, Mac turns into Mr. General, Father or Mr. James turns into Mr. ‘X’ the supreme one. And in the end, the story ends with a new revelation with the beginning of a new story i.e. ‘Story 3’.
