All species have lived in peace for centuries until the humans became envious of warlocks for their magic, lycans for their strength, and vampires for their immortality. Humans used their science to conduct horrific experiments and a disease spread among man. One who was infected with this disease was taken over by dark spirits which traded them power in exchange for their soul. These infected humans became known as the Duthra and they stole the life force out of living things and cursed the land they walked on. Warlocks felt the Duthras' evil magic and warned the others. Together, the supernatural joined forces to exterminate this plague. At first, they succeeded but the disease mutated and adapted. Duthra become smart, organized. Their powers became so great that they could change their appearance at will and control the dark energy. They tricked the other species into turning on the warlocks and soon all warlocks were slaughtered. It took many years to realize what had been done and the species turned against each other, opting to protecting their own instead of working together. Among this chaos and distrust, the Duthra thrived and worked on taking down the last human strongholds. Before the warlock Elders died, they used their magic to cast into stone that the Chosen would rise to save the world or to destroy it.
