A POEM ABOUT WARUpdated at Nov 22, 2023, 13:07
POEM: WARIn the realm of humanity, a tragic tale unfolds,A haunting chorus of battles, where courage dims and hope erodes. For in the pursuit of power, in the name of pride and greed,War emerges, casting shadows on the hearts that bleed.Oh, the futility of war, a relentless, vicious beast,That devours lives and dreams, leaving sorrow as its feast. The drums of conflict beat, drowning out reason's plea,As nations clash and swords collide, in a dance of agony. In the fields where flowers once bloomed, now stained with crimson red,A testament to the lives lost, the tears that have been shed. For what do we truly gain, when brothers turn to foes,When destruction reigns, and compassion's flame grows cold?War knows no victor, only a trail of broken souls,Families torn asunder, and hearts that bear heavy tolls. In the aftermath, amidst the ruins and debris,We're left to mourn the cost, of this senseless tragedy. For in the futility of war, we find no solace or gain,Only the scars of violence etched upon the remains. The cycle repeats, as history bleeds and repeats its tale,A reminder of the folly, of a path that's doomed to fail.So let us strive for peace, with compassion as our guide,To seek understanding, to bridge divides that lie so wide. For in unity and empathy, we find strength to stand,And build a world where harmony is held in gentle hand.May we remember the futility of war, etched in our core,And vow to pursue a future where conflict exists no more.Let us sow seeds of love, and nurture hope's tender bloom,For in the futility of war, lies the urgency to end its gloom.Poet: ALUSINE KADIATU TURAY
