"I WANT TO BE ANNE FRANK" is all about leaving a legacy. Leaving a legacy is the difference between being a tourist and being a citizen. No matter how much I have suffered or continue to suffer, I want to be remembered as a good soul, as someone who deeply cared about the future of the race.
“There’s Love In Every Heart” tells the story of Tushna Nandrajog who dreams of a world free of violence and discrimination for our future generations. As a strong votary of compassion and non-violence, she (Tushna) will continue to remain in strong opposition to Capital Punishment (and Draconian Laws). She believes that a violence-free society is not only desirable but also possible. However, it would take plenty of time for her to see her ideas materialize. Given to an entire life of pain, suffering and stigma; tossed between doctors and hospitals we will see a “miracle” in Tushna’s life.
From Tushna, the story will shift to Urmi, a survivor of sexual violence who later emerges to carry forward Tushna’s legacy (in a bold experiment in social reform) but loses her life in the process. This is a story in which many Tushnas can locate their own unique voices towards a more profound human revolution. Tushna's vision is to inspire and transform an entire generation of women (and men) towards greater tolerance and compassion because she believes in that intrinsic goodness.
Women all over the world (from India to Syria to Egypt to Somalia) share a (common) sisterhood and face common issues (including serious violence) at a time of unprecedented global transition. There thus emerges a most pressing need to start a fresh conversation and raise awareness towards a greater consciousness and a more profound awakening. Simply the fact that I felt strongly on these issues compelled me to contemplate that a novel on this subject ought to be written as a matter of high priority. This novel is meant for an audience which is seriously concerned about the progress and development of nations in general and the emancipation of women and girls in particular.
