Years After Son’s Death, Man Walks From San Antonio To North Texas Bearing Cross In Hopes Of Closure
Updated at Nov 14, 2020, 02:20
Following his troubled younger years, Felipe Cantú says that embracing Christianity has helped him face the ultimate sorrow — losing a newborn child — and to make a 300-mile journey that may provide healing. Felipe Cantú, 50, spent six weeks talking from his hometown, San Antonio, to Fort Worth and Mansfield, where he has family and his infant son Angel is buried. A Texas man has walked some 300 miles between San Antonio and Tarrant County carrying a heavy cross and documenting his trek on Facebook — a journey taken in memory of his son, Angel Phillip, who died shortly after birth 13 years ago.
