Shelly Malchon was determined to gain independence from her father, Mohammed Malchon, who strictly adhered to a specific religious perspective that prohibited inter-religious relationships. In the 21st century, modernization and freedom were taken for granted, but Shelly could not express her feelings to Ocean when they first met. Instead, she rejected his affection and kept secret her religious beliefs. Despite their differences, Shelly's heart yearned for Ocean's love. After graduating from university, in her early twenties, Shelly found herself courting a non-believer. Her father, however, would not accept the relationship due to his dedication to maintaining his image within the community. As time passed, Shelly continued to struggle with her feelings, until one day, she once again crossed paths with Ocean after 6 years. Michael, Shelly's new boyfriend, turned out to be a malicious and manipulative individual, determined to cause harm to Shelly's family. Over time, he convinced Shelly to cooperate with his devious plot, which involved kidnapping her father. As Ocean had become wealthy in the intervening years, he was enlisted to assist in carrying out the plan. In her quest for independence, Shelly committed an unspeakable act, shooting her own father with her bare hands. She then married a man she thought was capable of providing for her, but his true nature was soon revealed. Her father's disappearance was a mystery, but Shelly soon found herself facing the consequences of her actions. Just when all seemed lost, Ocean emerged as a beacon of hope, lending aid to Shelly and her family in their darkest hour. Ocean had achieved great success, becoming a renowned entrepreneur with international reach. Though he offered to help Shelly and her family, her father refused, unwilling to compromise his religious beliefs. Trapped in an unhappy marriage, Shelly endured suffering and hardship until she was finally sent back home. Despite the many hardships they had faced as a family, her father remained stubbornly set in his ways, unwilling to change his beliefs or compromise his principles. Despite their love for each other, the gulf between their religious beliefs seemed impossible to bridge. It was a tale as old as time, of two people divided by their faith, unable to find a way to be together, but they never gave up.
